Must-reads for a newbie?/Commuter Flight Stories pdf

Hello everybody! I just started reading QaF fics and would really appreciate it if you'd share your favorites with me. Preferably long, multi-chapter Brian/Justin fics.

Also, I'm looking for the pdf version of "Commuter Flight Stories" by netfics. Does anyone have it?

UPDATE: Pdf version for the Commuter Flight Stories is found. Thank you very much.

Welcome to Brian/Justin fan fiction. "Sunshine Series" at Moonshadow Tribe is very, very long (still going on & updated regularly) by Thyme & Sabina. It's very good & post S513 ( in the future) & shows what Brian & Justin would be like if they wound up together.
Here us the link:

I hope you enjoy as much as I did.
Ellen :)

One of my favorites, it's long and a true b/j love story is "Before There Was You There Was You" by petulant2u over at midnight whispers. Sorry I can't post the link, but it's easy to find it over there.

[identity profile] predec2.livejournal.com 2013-11-05 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Here is the link to the one that sjmpets mentioned on Midnight Whispers: http://midnightwhispers.ca/viewstory.php?sid=2614

May I suggest one of mine? "Remember Me." It is also on there. http://midnightwhispers.ca/viewstory.php?sid=1569 It is 47 chapters in length, so it would probably fit your criteria at least for longer, multi-chaptered stories.

Interesting - I'll have to link to that. Are all my fics there?

[identity profile] bodleian.livejournal.com 2013-11-06 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
Please check the getithere archives as there are plenty of stories there and you might want to try the stories by Wren and also by Xie. Both authors are really must reads.

Welcome!

Thanks for doing a subject line, but could you maybe edit it to include specific details of what you're looking for? Like, instead of "General + 1 Specific Search," change to "Commuter Flight Stories pdf/Must-reads for a newbie?" or something along those lines :) That would be awesome.

Top 3 I would rec are: 1) Maps and Legends, by Rachel and Laura, 2) Inescapable, and 3) The Things I Cannot Change (both by suzvoy). I will come back with links! lol

[identity profile] wouldbedorothy.livejournal.com 2013-11-06 06:15 am (UTC)(link)
Fantastic!

Here is the download link for the pdf of Maps and Legends (http://www.mediafire.com/download/67ivk753agfzabi/Rachel_Anton_aka_Sparkledark_and_Blaurosen_-_Maps_%26_Legends.pdf)
Seriously my favorite fic of all-time. Post-S3 unemployed Brian and Justin go on a cross country road trip. (Ch. 8 and 9 = some of the most intense, beautiful B/J ever written)

And everything by suzvoy is amazing.

Inescapable pdf (http://www.mediafire.com/download/9y8p70pd8n6fbbh/Suzvoy_-_Inescapable.pdf)
AU/What if B/J didn't meet until the bombing at Babylon? Just gorgeous.

The Things I Cannot Change pdf (http://www.mediafire.com/download/9e66anhlxa6bk6k/Suzvoy_-_The_Things_I_Cannot_Change.pdf)
Sort of an alternate S1, with Brian's drinking being full-on alcoholism and Justin being even stronger and more kickass than we knew. It follows most of the plot beats of S1, but they play differently because B/J have gotten much closer much faster.

I highly recommend your recs!! :)

Kiss Me Alright and Whore in a Hoody, both in my top 10. Private Dancer probably in my top 12, lol. Soooo gives me THE FEELS! I adore Sake, especially 56th! Bliss also excellent.

I have two that you would really like.

Embraced (http://midnightwhispers.ca/viewstory.php?sid=1018) It's a vampire fic that was wonderfully written. It includes the Twilight Series characters.

Forever Yours (http://midnightwhispers.ca/viewstory.php?sid=1059)
It's an alternative ending to the show. I loved this one.

Partners in Crime (http://http://midnightwhispers.ca/viewstory.php?sid=1193) This is where both Brian and Justin are cops for Pittsburgh. Craig is actually a good guy in this one.

Oh wow! I'm doing the same thing on my LJ page (actually I've just decided to devote my entire LJ to this) and on my working list (it's not entirely posted yet) I have all the same stories except for 2 so I'll definitely have to check those out! Yay for finding new fics! :)

FYI

This was on cleaverdevil's profile page in Midnight Whispers:

Info: Somebody recently posted " Kiss me alright' under my pen name. I did not write that story! It's from another German author going by the nick CleverDevil. Since the person obviously hacked my password and posted the story without the author's permission I had to delete it.

[identity profile] petulant2u.livejournal.com 2013-11-06 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Is Kiss me alright the one where Justin is autistic?

Re: FYI

[identity profile] wouldbedorothy.livejournal.com 2013-11-07 05:29 am (UTC)(link)
The author of Kiss Me Alright is CleverDevil. The similarly named author on Midnight Whispers goes by CleverDevil_51.

Highly confusing (and they're both German?), but I'm very grateful for the number, lol.

Yes, see below:

Hiya,

My recomendation:

Everything by Tagsit on midnightwhispers.
Especially Smoldering is fenomenal. It's a partial rewrite from another story but Tagsit made it into something very very good.

Enjoy.

I'm rather saddened that most of the classics haven't been rec'd to you. They are absolutely must-reads in this fandom. There are a few that most people would never rec, due to content, such as death fics. I'm not a huge fan of death fics, but there are a few that you simply must read.

Counting Blue Cars (http://mclachlan.livejournal.com/26054.html) by [livejournal.com profile] mclachlan. This is sort of a death fic, but not in the traditional sense. It is a beautiful story, and [livejournal.com profile] mclachlan is/was one of the best writers in this fandom.

Subject To Change (http://soundczech.livejournal.com/59991.html) by [livejournal.com profile] soundczech. Brian moved to NY after 120, he and Justin meet again years later.

Queer Survivor (http://josselin.livejournal.com/22413.html) by [livejournal.com profile] josselin Brian joins Queer Survivor. Yes, it's pretty much crack, but it's IC and...it's hysterical.

A couple from [livejournal.com profile] bigboobedcanuck:

From A Safe Distance (http://bigboobedcanuck.livejournal.com/150768.html) This is an HIV-scare story, set post 414, when Justin is in LA doing Rage.

Time Only Knows (http://bigboobedcanuck.livejournal.com/238804.html) Brian and Justin are in a car accident. The rest is BBC brilliance.

Out From Inside (http://bigboobedcanuck.livejournal.com/272279.html) and the sequel To Face Unafraid. These two stories are commonly known as "Dead!Lesbians-verse". Sad but beautiful.

I'm gonna wrap this up with a HUGE fic by [livejournal.com profile] plumsuede called Everything At Once (http://www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=plumsuede&keyword=Everything+At+Once&filter=all). It's set right at the end of 414 when Brian asks Justin to move in. This fic is long, angsty, beautiful and everything that makes Brian and Justin...Brian and Justin. I would have rec'd her magnum opus Embark/Framed/Beyond The Yellow Brick Road, which, in my opinion, is one of the best fics in this fandom period. It's not finished, but is at a stopping point in the fic that doesn't feel like a cliffhanger. Let me know if you want to tackle that, and I'll link you.
