So, I'm confused. Why does FB tell me that my post about the online petition for more QAF has reached almost 11,500 people (as of 7/2) and yet only 905 have signed the petition? Is FB wrong or are people just not signing? Does the petition not "Work" in all countries? Or is something else preventing people from signing? "Veronica Mars" had over 90,00 backers of their project giving actual money. This is just asking for a "show of hands". I am so very VERY thankful for all who have already signed ... but where are all the thousands of QAF fans who supposedly want to see more? How do we reach them? If this online petition form isn't a good one, is there a better format somewhere? Send a message if you have suggestions. I'd like to get a real feel for how many fans ACTUALLY would want to see more QAF. It's the #1 question any prospective producer is going to want to know: How many will watch? Thanks!!!

I used to have this site bookmarked but somewhere along the line I've lost it. Don't remember the name (although I think it had something to do with 'tears' or 'crying') or who it belonged to. It was full of funny (and hot!) stuff about Brian and Justin ... the one I remember best had them as Southpark characters.

With all the discussion about Randall and Brian it reminded me of a Meta I had read from an earlier fanfic writer who for some reason I thought was Randall, but wasn't/isn't. This writer is pre-2005 and so is his website.

The website is black and blue - with a black background I think. There was a lengthy meta about how Gale and Randy weren't faking it when it came to the sex scenes and the person went on to show a series of photographs and compare them to stills from QAF. This is not a fanfic, this is meta.

The man - who I'm pretty sure was actually a man - also wrote fanfic. And for some reason I'm thinking is the author of a fic about Justin and a Rotweiller - which is a hugely controversial. Let's say that if Justin was practicing Animal Husbandry...

Now I've got this stuck in my brain and can't for the life of me remember where I found it.

Okay, I know that this is silly but can anyone think of any fics where the infamous avocado, tuna, peanut butter and tabasco sandwich from hell is featured? Or maybe a fic where Brian is caught eating some other weird combination of food?

I'm looking for a little help for my next research project.

I'm possibly going to be giving a paper on QAF and Pittsburgh at a conference
in Pittsburgh in the fall. Therefore, I'm starting by collecting all the quotes and/or
references to Pittsburgh in the show that I can find.

So I'm opening the floor. You guys can always point me to lines or scenes I've
forgotten or need a slight nudge to remember.

So -- I'm game for your fabulous suggestions, if it's possible to be fabulous

Writing something for Credence, this thought occurred to me. As I'm sure most anyone knows, there are quite a few things that were said or stated in QAF fandom / showtime message boards by fans that inadvertently made it onto the show in one way or another.

Just two of my favorites that I recall are 'Zen Ben' and 'Brian knocked up Sunshine'.

So if anyone can recall, 'the ugly naked guy painting', was this an actual fandom thing before Justin says it when the painting is being taken away, or was this on the show before?

EDIT: FOUND ANSWER. Okay I was confusing myself by thinking too much about it. Justin does not say exactly 'ugly', and you'd think me watching it 3 times before asking would've alleviated this question. But then I began wondering if he said it as 'ugly' elsewhere or if it was purely fanon. It is only purely fanon. Justin does NOT say 'ugly'.

Hi everyone, long time lurker first time poster.

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a Brian & Justin based fan community here on Livejournal. I know we've got bjfic but that's one just for fanfiction. I've tired looking for one but it's either run-down and nobody posts there anymore, or there isn't one? I know the TV show ended a long time ago, but it seems that the Brian & Justin flame has never really died. I'd love to hear what you guys have to think about that.

I've been having some trouble to articulate what QAF is about for some people who have never heard about it and are not interested in tv series in general. It seems that I cannot grasp with words some aspects that make this show a unique one.

there was an article that one of the writers of qaf wrote to try and explain the ending to the fans who were not so happy about it,i saved it but somehow have lost it.the article talks about the five kind of love,the plutonic,romatic,self and so forth.if anyone have this saved or have a link ,i would really greatful thanks.there is also an interview with the producers about the ending.

I checked the 'down the well' tags/memories, but I couldn't figure out which of these fics were really depressing in general AND had the dirty stuff as well ^^;

Edit: Sorry ^^; Bidyke is right - lemon means graphic sex, lol. Didn't know it's only common in germany for sex in all kind of fics. We have lemon for more graphic sex and lime for implied sex. There's even something in between, but I won't go that deep into explanations now, lol

Hello everyone!

A recent survey reminded me of one that was done quite a while ago, I guess about two years or so ago, I think I was pretty new to LJ.... Anyway, it was about fanfiction from the reader's POV - what kind you read, how you find it, that kind of stuff. It was for a thesis, and once she was finished (sometime in the Spring, if I recall correctly) she wanted to mail it to the people interested. I don't know, maybe she did and it accidently landed in my spam folder, but I never saw it. Does anyone remember that and maybe still have a copy? I'd really like to read it now. I checked some comms I could think of, like Queer as Folk Fans, What's Up QaF and Queer as TV, but didn't find it.

Hey everyone!!
I'm looking for a few posts that I saw some time ago, they were recaps of fanfics that kind of made fun (but in a very very fun way)of some ways the fics were written... I remember there were caplocks for some random-but-not-so-random words, to show the character's or fandom's feeling at certain particular lines...

I know this doesn't sound very clear, but if you've read it you know what I'm talking about lol!!!
Anyone have a link to those?
