Edit 2: Okay, lol, funny discussion but still no recs (which I didn't know) ._. Slip Away can't be the only one, or? ;_;
---
Yeah, the title says it all, I think, lol
I'm in the mood for this right now, so...
Can someone rec me some well-written really, sad, depressing B/J fics which also include lemonSEX? (There's nothing better than despair!sex, lol)
Something like 'Slip away' by Branwen777.
I checked the 'down the well' tags/memories, but I couldn't figure out which of these fics were really depressing in general AND had the dirty stuff as well ^^;

Edit: Sorry ^^; Bidyke is right - lemon means graphic sex, lol. Didn't know it's only common in germany for sex in all kind of fics. We have lemon for more graphic sex and lime for implied sex. There's even something in between, but I won't go that deep into explanations now, lol

Huh? I'd like to help, but I have no idea what you are talking about here.

Yup, I had the same thought. I know what a lemon is, but not in this context ???

I suspect it may be a translation problem.

I hope so, or it's a very special kink, I've never heard of :)

Isn't it great? It's by [livejournal.com profile] qafmaniac.

No, lemon is a term used in most Anime & Harry Potter fanfics. It's been around for a long time, just unheard of in TV show & movie fandoms.

Actually 'seme' and 'uke' is Japanese terms for top and bottom and are not used in American media culture. The only time you hear these terms used in America is from American translations of Japanese Mangas and Animes. Or on LJ forms dedicated to Anime fandoms.

Uhm, I'm German and I've never heard it before.
Thanks for the explanation.

Lemon means sex, right? If it does, there's this one fic by triciaqaf which is hot and sad at the same time: http://www.queereyes.net/missyou.html

No, it seems to be common in English, too:

"Lemon and Lime
Main article: lemon (anime)
See also: lime (anime)
Explicit sex stories in general, especially in anime fan fiction, are known as lemon, lemony-goodness, and lemonade, a term which comes from a Japanese slang term meaning "sexy" that itself derives from an early pornographic cartoon series called Cream Lemon. The term lime denotes a story that has sexual themes but is not necessarily explicit. "Lemon" stories without much plot other than sex are also referred to as smutfics[citation needed] or as PWPs ("Porn Without Plot" or "Plot? What Plot?").

These terms are also sometimes used now to describe original amateur fiction that is published online."

Yes, lemon has been a term for sex in Anime fandoms and have been around for a long time. Since I've come from (and currently still active in) Anime fandoms I knew what she was talking about. But yes this term is very uncommon in TV show & movie fandoms.

Interesting. Thanks for the info.

Sounds like it's pretty specific to the anime world. I've certainly never heard it used by anyone in any of the fandoms I've been involved in or by friends involved in other non-anime fandoms over the years.

However, it seems to me if you can read about sex why not just type/say the word without requiring such a euphemism? It's not like the word is shorter and easier to type or anything.

Yup, BJ is blowjob. B/J is Brian/Justin.

From: [identity profile] wouldbedorothy.livejournal.com
Lol, I tend to say "BJ" to mean Brian and Justin! 'Cause then it's like... they're closer together... than if I say "B/J"...

*iz dork*

Also 'cause fanfiction.net takes all the little symbol punctuation out of your summaries, so I'd type "B/J" and it would become "BJ" anyway, so...

I guess I'd say "a bj" for blow job, lol.

Btw, [livejournal.com profile] lumcheng hon, I remember you saying "lemon" to me the first time and being like ???? but figuring it out and figuring I was just out of the loop! :-b

No, it's not. You'll find the terms "lemon" and "lime" in slash fiction. Almost every archive out there that caters to slash use those terms, as well as "yaoi" and "hentai", geared more towards the anime fics. There's also chan, which you may know. If not, that's fic with underaged characters.

I wish I'd seen this earlier, it would have been funny jumping in going, "Hey, we only use those terms for non-canon slash!fic!" lol

From: [identity profile] flamencanyc.livejournal.com
Hmm. I've never seen or heard of them used in the QaF, DW/TW, Star Trek, Oz, or AI fandoms, that's for sure. Slash or no.

So let me rephrase, it sounds like they're predominantly used in the anime and other related fandoms (i.e. those of Japanese origin such as anime, hentai, yaoi, chan, etc.), but I guess they may also be used in some other non-Japanese origin slash fandoms that I'm not familiar with.

Interesting either way. Though I still don't get why anyone would bother using such odd euphemisms rather than just saying sex or porn or using standard ratings. But that's okay, I don't need to get it. Fact is, they do.

I remember the first time I saw those types of warnings; it was when I was brand new to the fanfiction thing...way back in 2002. lol Those warnings had me all kinds of confused! I was all, "Lemon? WTF is that??"

Those warnings abound at large multi-fandom archives, such as ff.net, aff.net, and several Harry Potter archives as well. I haven't seen any at archives that host QAF fic, that I recall, anyway. And oddly enough, I don't recall seeing that at the Smallville archive sites, either, which would be mostly slash.

It's VERY common in the Harry Potter fandom as well, so not just anime, ;)

On sites such as fanfiction.net, the summary to every story has to be appropriate for all ages. Saying "this story has lemon" is better than "this is porn." :P

Date: 2009-11-08 07:17 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] flamencanyc.livejournal.com
Yes, I know. That's why I said 'predominantly' not 'exclusively'.

Seems to me that if it means the same thing, and everyone in that fandom knows it (or finds out the first time they click on something so labeled), it is no "better" than saying porn. Just sillier. :) The summary needn't include any of that anyway; that's what ratings are for.

Anyway, obviously those that use it should do what they want. And I'll thank my lucky stars that it hasn't come into usage in QaF fic. As Brain and Justy know, we have enough silly problems already. ;)

Oh, I forgot. Did you check the h/c section? Most of those are sad fics where sex is had. Hence the hurt/comfort tag.

Yeah, lemon does mean really NC-17 graphic sex (pornographic), while lime or citrus is just R. Mainly used in anime fanfiction writing.

How about Holding On to Let You Go by Lane Carson? They had raw sex in Part 7. Download it here: http://www.4shared.com/account/home.jsp. Incidentally, this link is under the Recovered Lost Fics DL even more fics tab of this community. Thanks and have fun!

My nano will fit into this category of fics. But it's not done yet. It'll be called "Tenebrosity" though if you watch [livejournal.com profile] bjfic for it in December.
