Hmm. I've never seen or heard of them used in the QaF, DW/TW, Star Trek, Oz, or AI fandoms, that's for sure. Slash or no.
So let me rephrase, it sounds like they're predominantly used in the anime and other related fandoms (i.e. those of Japanese origin such as anime, hentai, yaoi, chan, etc.), but I guess they may also be used in some other non-Japanese origin slash fandoms that I'm not familiar with.
Interesting either way. Though I still don't get why anyone would bother using such odd euphemisms rather than just saying sex or porn or using standard ratings. But that's okay, I don't need to get it. Fact is, they do.
