New to the Fandom, need some pointers/recs~!

Hello all,

I just finished the whole series of QAF couple days ago (yeah...I know...a bit (or lot?) late for me~lol
Anyway~I would like to read some fics but don't know where to start in the fandom. So pleeease rec some of your fav Brian/Justin fics or Gale/Randy RPS, no bad endings please (can't take it anymore after season 5 *tears*), and the longer the better! Thanks in advance~~! <33333

well, for gale/randy rps (and also b/j fics) I can highly recommend wouldbedorothy's fics. In her LJ you can find many fics, or just check out her website http://www.safetyofmystillness.net/ (but be aware that not everything is happy and fluffy ;> )
I also love rhiannonhero's fics dearly. she also writes rps and b/j fics http://www.rhiannonhero.net/rhi/QaFMain.htm

well, I'd recommend more great authors, but they mainly have drama and/or angsty fics, so... ^^°

For B/J I strongly suggest you read Xie's "Only Time" series. It's a WIP, but it has 7 parts so far (Plans, Decisions, Desires, Risks, Families, Beliefs and Directions). Directions is still a WIP. http://xie-xie-xie.insanejournal.com/51270.html All her other B/J fics are worth reading too, btw.

Welcome! There are many, many wonderful fics awaiting you and you've gotten some great recs already.

This kind of request, however, is discouraged in the Posting Rules because it's so broad. Once people get going on reccing their favorites, it becomes very hard to tag this kind of a post and save to the Memories (which are limited to five categories).

Please edit to request just a couple types of fic you'd like to begin with. And check out the Rec Comms linked on the Sidebar; that's a good way to find favorites. Thanks!

Flames by arlad - Justin doesn't go to NY and they do get married

Choices by england13 - a wip; the author's had tech issues lately, but what's up is amazing enough that you should start reading it anyway.

Let's put it this way, when I was having my own laptop troubles, Choices was the fic that I printed out for my BJ fix when I needed it. That's how much I rec this.

Others...

Suzvoy (http://www.suzvoy.com/qaf/qaffic.html) is really good and her angst is labeled for easy avoidance ^_^. Still, I rec "The Things I Cannot Change" and "Inescapable" as the longer fics and most of the shorter ones.

- She has some great long fics and on the plus side her fics are available in pdf file so you have the option to take it on the road with you.

- But you better start cracking on her fic. Her lj account expires in November and she may not renew it anymore. I don't know what will happen to her fics if it comes to that. So go get them. Now. Seriously.


InnerJustin
- This site is turning to be a good source of multi-chaptered fics. The one-offs are nothing to sneeze at either. It's a mix bag of AUs and Canon.


BJ_TEHO community
- This site currently holds the fic To Each His Own. It's multi-chaptered and very well written by two awesome ladies, Arlad and Lastglances. The fic is set in WW2 where Brian, an SS Officer, takes in Justin, a "degenerate". Don't be turned off by the WW2 setting. It's very tasteful. Trust me. I had my reservations about fics with Nazis and this one didn't irk me at all.


Growing Up Kinney in http://www.queereyes.net.
- Very cute and sweet fic from Gus' POV. Major part of this story is Blind!Justin. It also contains the best humble Brian scenes I've read so far(this is the scene where he sets Gus straight on the whole why Justin is not going for an operation deal). That scene was so freaking romantic to me.

- One of the funniest fics in this fandom. It's a crossover with Friends. It's not multi-chaptered but totally worth checking out.
