Looking for less-known gems!

I think I've read all the stories by the obvious great authors and I've resorted to re-reading their fics. (that's the good thing about them, you can just read them over and over and over again :-) )

But once in a while I stumble upon less-known authors who have written some amazing stories. And that just makes my day (and if I'm lucky and there is a lot to read: my week ;-) )!

This week I read everything by [livejournal.com profile] scoobygang8 and I loved every word!

So now I'm looking for author-recs. Do you know more of these less-known authors who've created amazing work? I don't need fic-titles because I just read everything the've ever written. :-)

Thanx!

Someone posted this link the other day and I was very surprised to find that I hadn't read this fic. I have to say that I really enjoyed it.

I think that's a difficult question, because someone who's famous for a group of ppl maybe isn't known at all by another group. This also has to do with new and old fans, imho ^^;
As someone who's only 5 months in the engl fandom, I don't know a lot of authors. I read a shitload, but when someone says XYZ is a legend, I'm like: Who? '_'
I know the active authors and some from the 'great old days' when I get recs, lol

Overall I think that old authors are better known than the ones who started writing for this fandom a year or less ago.

SO, that said, to cut a long story short, I must rec [livejournal.com profile] fever_play.
Just go to her LJ where all her stories are posted (I think that's all she's written so far for QAF).

I would recommend reading stories here:

I would recomment Moonshadow Woman. She has some excellent stories.

link?

Is there a link to these stories other than backtracking in the journal? I tried the memories link and there was only one chapter of a longer story listed.

I must be crazy...

I'm not sure whether I fit the bill, but I write a lot. All mine are Brian and Justin stories, and most are WIPs, but I update frequently, and they are all quite long (between 20 and 90K words and growing).

The link I provided is to my memories (that way you don't need to navigate through my LJ).

violette7's stories (http://www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=violette7)

Pieces of the Puzzle and Happy Birthday, Brian are complete (but I started sequels), and I have a few complete shorter ones (they aren't all in my memories, so I included links to MW).

It is kind of hard to know who you've read and who you haven't.

So here are a few authors I really enjoy that are currently writing in the fandom that you may or may not be aware of:
[livejournal.com profile] besame_bj
[livejournal.com profile] england13
[livejournal.com profile] sapphire_3
[livejournal.com profile] wren_kt7oz
[livejournal.com profile] sakesushimaki
[livejournal.com profile] inner_justin
[livejournal.com profile] blissink
[livejournal.com profile] discothequey
[livejournal.com profile] lindtti
[livejournal.com profile] netlagd all stories can be found at [livejournal.com profile] netfics

How about these? If you've read them, then you might want to include a list of what you've read so that we're not all spinning our wheels.

[livejournal.com profile] luceonouro, [livejournal.com profile] flashfly (also posted at MST as Jude), [livejournal.com profile] chering and [livejournal.com profile] fansee, [livejournal.com profile] mclachlan. Start with them.

Oh, I know what you mean. You have that feeling that you might be missing something?

Have you read the stuff at the challenge communities and giftxchange? I think that there are lots of stories by people who might have only written one or two. I plan on going through them this next year and looking for those lovely little gems.

It's my mission to find a new author for you. How about [livejournal.com profile] burkesl17? Not a lot of stories but I find them very well done.

I second teatotaller's rec to peruse all the challenge comms listed on the Sidebar. Are you a member of qaf_retread?

notreallyme10 is very good. How about [livejournal.com profile] kimberleyqaf? testdog65 (http://testdog65.insanejournal.com/)? [livejournal.com profile] suzvoy? Worth the Fight (http://lookingglass.thelightgetsin.com/worththefight.html)? Love is Not a Victory March by januaryale is not well known at all, but her LJ's deleted and I don't have a link to the fic. [livejournal.com profile] laciudad? [livejournal.com profile] violetjones? Jule (http://www.mags-nificent.com/MSW/Jule.htm)?

eta: halfspell. i don't have the link handy, but she's in the tags and can be found on fanfiction.net.

okay, I'm done. I'm going to have to tag this entry, you know! ;))
