[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_alicesprings/ posting in [community profile] getithere
I don't read WIPs, I've been burned too many times by ones that are never completed. So I was hoping for recs of recently completed fics. There's always a bunch of fics being posted chapter by chapter at bjfic but since I don't follow them I often miss when they're finished.

Anyone know of any series that have been completed in the last few months?

Thanks.

ETA: I have a few, but even more would be better :)

*g* I'll shamelessly submit my "Give and Take" that was finally completed in April '09, 26 chapters, including epilogue! *shrugs* Whether it's good or not, or worth your time, is up to you, but all the chapters are at:

I really liked
The 56th Most Common Name
(http://sakesushimaki.livejournal.com/tag/qaf+fic:+%22the+56th+most+common+name%22) by [livejournal.com profile] sakesushimaki. It's an AU where Brian Meets Justin in Boston but doesn't even know his name when they part.

There is also a fairly recent one called
Love Remains
(http://blissink.livejournal.com/tag/love+remains) by [livejournal.com profile] blissink. It has a sequel called
Saving a Life
(http://blissink.livejournal.com/tag/saving+a+life).

I have to second "56th Most Common Name," particularly the beginning sections from the initial meeting up to the more sexy developments. [livejournal.com profile] sakesushimaki has a way of making you feel all stomach-flippy inside like you were one of them in those early moments where they were trying to find each other (and then get found...hopefully it doesn't give too much away for me to say they eventually did find each other). Another fic that affected me in this way was [livejournal.com profile] violette7's Buttercup & Enigma, but it is not yet completed (just mentioning it for anyone else who likes that feeling).

I'm posting the last chapter of Educating Justin next week.

Also, I discovered a couple exceptionally good fics - not new, but new to me that are completed and thoroughly enjoyable fun:

no problem

you might want to look at my request a couple of days ago for comfort food fics.

I've been reading a lot of old fic (pre-season 4) from 2003ish

Also, you are friended at my fic journal that has all my completed fic (left navigation under recent entries).
http://netfics.livejournal.com/

Also, people are beating me up with a wet noodle to complete turbulence. So after EJ wraps I'm on to that. So that should be done by the end of the year - you have 6 months, right?

if you have read everything that old, you don't happen to have a copy of Rococonut Variations in E Minor do you?

The author was bemoaning that Eve - one of the other folks in the on_to_you had zapped the journal before she had a chance to grab a copy. And that it had been her favorite fic that she had written.

I think that "E" is the author for Rococonut variations in E minor

OMFG!!!!! *Here's* where I found, years ago, the J/E Mozart/Salieri roleplay fic that I looked and looked and looked for and asked about and asked about and asked about during the time Randy was doing Amadeus.

I thought it would be a complete riot to post the link after it was posted that he was going to be doing the show and NObody knew the fic I was talking about.

In fact, you may have been one of the ones questioning my sanity in my request post! I assured everyone that I had indeed read it because there was no way my imagination was fertile enough to have dreamed it up on my own. ;DDD

Must go find my original post and update with link like the good little comm member I am. ;)

well, bjfic is supposed to be down for awhile, and the fic is not up to date there (probably related to the reason it is down).
btw, you don't have to friend me since I already had you of the flist at net!fics when I did my migration from my netlagd account

From: [identity profile] netfics.livejournal.com
I post a link in bjfic LJ that links to BJfic.net

also, you are friended now - I thought I had migrated you over there.

You're all set.

I'm in the process of cataloging everything in memories, but if you use the link on the sidebar, you'll get to the first chapter. Use the Previous/Next arrows at the top of each chapter to navigate to the next chapter. Chapters are posted in order.

Where can we find the final chapter? I usually just go through the link that you provide, but obviously that isn't going to happen now, lol.

I've been dying to read the end.

Okay, this one isn't finished yet, but keep an eye out for Choices by [livejournal.com profile] england13; it's very well-written and IC and is a What If? from after Babylon is bombed. It's up to chapter 17 now and I believe she said there are just a couple more chapters to go, so hopefully, you'll be able to read it soon. In the meantime, she's got several completed one-shots (http://england13.livejournal.com/tag/) that are also very good. (http://england13.livejournal.com/tag/choices)

At at the end of last year, I posted a "10 Best of '08" list on my livejournal...these are a few that I thought were some really good ones last year: http://elvenfixation.livejournal.com/1981.html

All of those are done except Britin's "Turning Points" and (I think) Crazyevildru's "Want" series (I haven't taken a look at that one lately, so I don't if she finished it).

Another one I've been following is "Five Years" by littletwat...it's supposed to be getting close to the ending now, so you might want to take a look in a couple of weeks: http://littletwat.livejournal.com/tag/five+years
