Seeking Brian/Justin Stories with Original Plots and Characters SUGGESTIONS IN COMMENTS + see note

I’ve read quite a few Brian and Justin “meet in a different way” stories and, while some of them are well written and start off in an interesting way, almost all those that I’ve read soon devolve into a rehashing of QAF plots and characters. Are there any other good BJ meet-differently stories that remain original, creating new characters, situations and plots, without relying heavily on the same-old canon events (e.g. cancer, Babylon bombing, Stockwell), and without losing the essential nature/personalities of Brian and Justin?

It's Brian and Justin, and it's got some of the liberty avenue gang, but it's also got original characters, and it's very AU. It's also fantastic.

mmmorpheusq you are friended at my fic journal, so you'll be able to read any listed there.

There is a master fic list - which lists my AUs - most are AUs or post-513 one offs where Brian and Justin get back together. While I believe most to be "in canon" I don't rely heavily on things like the bashing, bombing or cancer arc - though there may be a light reference that these were past experiences that shape the characters as they are today.

I've read a couple of the other stories/authors in the past. I read many of Gaedhal's stories years ago, including the prison story, about 2004-2005. Brian behind bars - fun!! She is very prolific! As is besame - I 'm sure I've read all HER stories at least once. And I recently read some of Conzieu's stories too.

At the moment, I am reading Inescapable, which is new to me. It's very well written, and begins with an alternate BJ meeting, but otherwise, though I'm enjoying the story very much, it does encompass all the canon characters. And plots, at least as previous events.

I would still like to find stories that are more original in plot/theme/characters. Maybe I'm just tired of Mikey-Emmett-Deb-Ben? Or maybe I need to join a book club and read "real" books, LOL. Alas, I can't seem to walk away from Brian and Justin...
