A few days ago, I posted here searching for a fic (ayesakara's Psycho!fic) and after re-reading, it got me thinking.

So, I'm looking for fics in which either Brian or Justin thinks or is led to believe the other is seriously hurt or dead as part of the story line; as well as fics where something happens and all evidence points to either Brian or Justin being dead but the other refuses to believe it, despite everything or everyone trying to get them to grieve and move on. I hope this makes sense.

I'd prefer happy endings please.

I have a favorite "Brian thinks Justin is dead" fic, but I can't remember the title. It's an AU in which Brian meets Justin while setting up the San Francisco branch of Kinnetik. Justin gets bashed by Hobbes just days before Brian is supposed to return home to Pittsburgh. The doctors say that Justin won't make it, and Craig won't let Brian see Justin in the hospital to say good-bye. Brian, believing that Justin has died and unable to cope with it, blocks out all memory of knowing him. Brian returns home with selective amnesia--and the mystery of the new paintings he's acquired. Justin recovers, but--thanks to Craig--believes that Brian left him. And yes, there is a happy ending.

Does anyone know what fic I'm talking about?
