I am about to be deprived of my internet connection for 2 weeks and I need something to keep me going.
So what I need is some good (preferably long) recommendations that I can save and read off line, the only things I ask are that they are B/J, it's completed, and it has a happy ending (it can hurt along the way but they must end up together).
Please help :)

ETA An Amazing amount of links in the comments. Thanks so much guys :)

Have you read Sunshine Files? It's not finished, but the chances are you wont be done with it in the next two weeks. Start at the bottom.

FYI: 'How We Got Where We're Going' has an unfinished sequel, 'Now That We're Here.' You can find what's published of it here:

Also, her AU 'After the Smoke Clears' of the Babylon Bombing is most excellent:

Something Beautiful, by [livejournal.com profile] discothequey is downloadable in PDF format, relatively long, and very very good. (Link to the download post: http://discothequey.livejournal.com/17362.html ) Her IM Sessions series is funny as hell, too. I squee when new entries show up. :D

There's also Xie's unfinished series, Only Time. Her fic index is here: http://xie-xie-xie.insanejournal.com/51270.html (And everything on it's awesome)

Gold and Silver Shines by [livejournal.com profile] severina2001 was a NaNoWriMo story that I like a lot.

[livejournal.com profile] besame_bj wrote a series called Old Fashioned Love - http://besame-bj.livejournal.com/12355.html - with a couple of sequel-ish fics set in the same universe. Her Gone/Mirror/Precipice series is also pretty interesting. :)

Oops, forgot the URL for Severina's fics.

http://severina2001.livejournal.com/tag/qaf+fanfic+-+nanowrimo2006 is the memories for Gold and Silver Shines. Her '07 NaNo fic, Whenever You're Ready ( http://severina2001.livejournal.com/tag/qaf+fanfic+-+nanowrimo+2007 ) is good too.

The two completed series by [livejournal.com profile] bdeviled. "A Love That Will Never Grow Old" and it's sequel, both listed on the right-hand side of her journal page. Two of my favourite series!

I always recommend any story by Rizabeau. I highly recommend her series 'Songs In The Key Of Love - 1)Signed, 2)Sealed, 3)Delivered, 4)Bunnies and Peeps, 5)Sugar Plum Fairies 1, 2, and 3.' All her fics are long and well written. Also, Caprice and Ritorna A Me are excellent.

okay, i might have a suggestion for faster saving some of the fics. I'm using Firefox, so not sure if Explorer works the same way, but probably.

I just tried this with Wren's Reverb at bjfic.net. So, particularly stories in the archives (bjfic, atp, m-w, the tribe) where you have the option to "Print Story" or "Print Chapter," if you click the story icon, you'll get the whole fic as one webpage.

Click File, Save Page As, (the name will be some random number or word; i assume you could rename it right there but I didn't do that, so just make sure you know where you save it so you can rename it after the fact if you have to and then choose in the File Type box, Web Page, HTML Only), click save. I got the whole fic as a webpage. You can't make any changes the way you could if you pasted into Word, but it's a whole lot faster than copying and pasting.

This method would also work, obviously, in someone's Memories, you'd just have to make sure you named each fic with the title and chapter.

Hope this made sense! ;)

That is a great idea, never have thought of it. I often don't save stories because of the effort needed to go to each page and save but your way solves that. Thanks for sharing :)

yay! Glad the idea was useful for you. I have tons of fics copied to Word and saved on my hard drive and that's my preferred method (only because, even thought I might really love a fic, I'm so irritated by grammar, non-American slang, and other errors that sometimes I find myself editing a fic so it doesn't irk me so much lol).

But if I was in a rush to get something on my hard drive so I could read off-line, this is definitely a more efficient way to go. ;)

You could always check out the novel-length bit in the memories, too ... although I can't vouch for them having happy endings I'm afraid. ;)
