I yearn greatly for end-of-the-world fics. D:

I Am Legend just came out on DVD, and in my toe-dipping experience in other fandoms I found this divine House fic in which. Well, there are zombies. So that is...really what I am looking for. Zombies, darkseekers, biblical wrath... an Evan Almighty/Noah's Ark flood sort of thing. I pine for this.

The only fic I'm aware of that fits the bill (aside from the Shaun of the Dead parody, read it by the way) is Seven (7?) by yoursweater. Which I can't read (even after much google fu and creative wayback machine-ing) because I can't join the community. I'd love to read it if anyone has a copy or a link. Fic acquired! :D

Anyway. Give me your swarms of locusts, mutant viruses, undead hell puppets... Just warn for major character death, please. (:

eta: Two fics found that exceed any feeble expectations I had. End of the world fics are generally excellent as a rule, of course, so that says something. Links in comments, because I am sleepy.

Severina did a wonderful QAF zombie!fic for nanowrimo last year. There is some character death in the supporting cast, but I won't say who or it'll spoil it.

I'm sorry. I live and breathe chicken. I went to see I Am Legend with a friend for the sole purpose of having him use a bird call to alert me (I went out into the hall) when the freakfest was over.

So this is sort of an exercise in facing your fears for me. I, however, cannot read unless I know Brian and Justin will be 2gthr 4vr alive and not walking the path of the undead.

So, please, tell me tell me, they don't die, right? Or get bitten? I cheated a little and tried to investigate on my own, and on the final chapter I read something like 'Brian's bite', and immediately closed the window.

It has a good ending, I promise. I'm not into B/J suffering forever afterward either. Heck, I don't even really like the ones where they take a decade to get back together--that's just too tragic for my tastes.

Thank you, thank you for the severina rec. That was fantastic. And exactly what the morbid surge was begging for. On the down side, it may have actually ruined me for all other doomsday!fics. I mean, it's hard to keep looking for something you've found!

Because as much as I'd be thrilled to read about B/J in undead-land, eaten by worms and harrassed by necromancers, seems like it's not such a popular idea in this fandom, at least to my knowledge, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this topic D:

I, personally, think it should be much more popular than it is. There's an excellent Grease crossover. There should be at least 10,000 zombie fics.

Colder In My Skin by Seperis
Is about sort of vampire apocalypse, I think, and, like, almost everybody dies or gets turned into vampire. Not very long, rather depressing, kinda gory, engaging and really awesome.
