can you give me a recommendation of a good fic for this newbie?

Okay. First of all, I may be new into this fandom, and I just started this show around month ago. Late? yes I know :P

And to fulfill my desire of B/J, I wanna read some fanfictions. The problem is, I don't know which one is the best one, and the not so long one.

so, can you give me your recommendations of your favorite fictions or the story / stories that you think the best one(s); One shot, chaptered ( I prefer the completed one. but on going is okay), humor, angst, AU, canon, Gap-filler, Mpreg (as long as it's not preggy!Brian), anything! Oh.. as long as the chapter wasn't more than 25 chapters (I'm easy to feel bored). I'm okay with break up story (should I say.. I'm really interested with that one), but happy ending, pleease. I'm hurt enough with the real ending.

Oh, Since I always see the comment here and there about "if you needed me" by Myrna is really good, I just started reading it now :))

IMO, Xie's "Only Time" series is a must read. She has quite an extensive fic list, so I would just start on her site. Here's her fic page addy.

It takes place after the series, and it continues B/J's life together. It's a really good read.

Any of her fics are fantastic. She's a wonderful writer, and a total B/J shipper. There's an AU she wrote called "Pulse Point" which is also fantastic. So dive right in. No worries about anything.

Generally, requests here need to be a lot more specific than just asking for "good fic," but since I'm guessing it's your first post, s'okay. It's really cool that new fans are still showing up :) Be warned, though, that people's tastes differ greatly, and one person's idea of the best fic ever could one of the worst things someone else has ever read. Still, there are a handful of fics - like If You Needed Me - that pretty much everyone agrees on.

Do check out our profile page if you haven't and read the comm rules. You also might want to try clicking on the "rec lists" tags to find fic.

And you don't need to put any tags. Actually, you can't. The mods are the only ones who can add tags. (Which, I've just realized, should be mentioned in our rules, because newbies never know. So, thanks!)

My favorite story is gaedhal's Queer Theory - it is very AU, starting from mid season 2, and was the first fanfic I read. it's still my favorite. It's very, very long, so maybe you wouldn't want to start with it. If you want to try it, you can find it at

I love everything by morpheus. Morpheus has some FANTASTIC gapfillers, especially the story "With Interest" which is after episode 110.
My favorite morpheus story is "Trading Spaces" which is set after season 3, and is a chapter fic I think 18 chapters long. It's WONDERFUL. And schmoopy.

Wren rewrote some scenes of season 5, in a series called Reverb, which fixes some of the most egregious horrors of cowslip (hahaha).
Wren also has some gapfillers, one offs, and a couple short AU pieces, in addition to Reverb and it's sequel Homecoming (Homecoming is a very long chapter fic, well worth reading).

Hey! Xie and Wren are great, and one of the greatest is Kachelofen. My favorite is Futility. All the stories from this author are very well written, when there is a new story you can count with consistent and regular posts and an end, some angst but much love between Brian and Justin. There is a folder with the stories in the Aly's GHI (look in the sidebar)also on AOL and Midnight Whisper. So, go read them! All of them are "must read"!

I first discovered QAF in 2011 and it took me well over a year to absorb all the awesome fanfic - so I know you have many many great stories ahead of you. There are so many awesome stories but my personal favourites (one's I've read over and over) are:

** For the HEA that Season 5 never delivered I recommend "A Love That Will Never Grow Old" by bdeviled.
** For a role-reversal AU "Trying to Make Some Sense of it All" by Kachelofen.
** For an awesome parallel universe (that's what I call it when a story is canon up to a point and then branches off into AU) "Subject to Change" by Soundczech.
