Personally, I didn't like it as BJ was apart far too long for my taste, and the whole series rubbed me the wrong way, but you may like it.

To be honest-I skimmed this cause like you said- they were apart for too long for my liking..I was like, nope- just clicked the back arrow and go for another read..Thanks for reply though!

Yeah, I couldn't stand it. I don't mind them being apart for awhile, but I have my limits, and that story surpassed them.

It's harder to find stories with Brian cheating because as a lot of fans say, Justin is it for Brian. In contrast, even if we don't like to think about it, Justin could probably fall in love with someone else as he's not emotionally stunted.

I agree. Anything where Brian falls in love with someone else would feel terribly OOC to me.

Well. I think sometimes that Brian is too mature for Justin..that Justin is still in that age where he should explore other experiences life can bring. Brian isnt the easiest man to be with, we know, so what if there was someone else out there that he could like with Brian's baggage?

Brian is this whole other level..with a career and real college experiences. Justin opened his eyes and said- yah,someone could love you, Brian and it isnt bad at all- but what if he found someone within his level, that went through the same experiences he did and Brian likes him? Mikey would be great if he wasnt borderline obsess with him..lolx..

We know that "generation gap" between relationships dont work sometimes if not most of the time..what if it were Justin and Brian's case?

Ummm...NO. That was the point all along. Brian may be too 'old' for Justin, but there's no way we was too mature. Emotionally, Brian was stuck at about age 17. Justin even says so at one point. Although Justin does some rather childish things from time to time, he's way more emotionally mature than Brian.

I think Brian had more 'real' life experience than Justin but was emotionally immature. He was cynical and distrustful of emotions. Justin was much better adjusted emotionally.

I found the relationship equally satisfying. Brian taught Justin a lot about life and how to be independent, how to be careful, how to avoid life's pitfalls, etc, and Justin taught Brian about love and relationships.

There is a great story on Midnight Whispers by Mouse, it's a different take of Simon's The Other Foot (which I totally hate, to be honest) and in this version BJ eventually wind up together. I have actually read it already. I feel like the ending's a bit open though. BJ are unsure if they can make it work and Steve is plotting to getting Brian back. We really need faith that BJ will stay together this time around.

I agree about open ending but I liked it that way. Well, there is the only one "cheating" story I can recall where BJ without doubts end together - Randall's Deconstructing Brian/Reconstructing Brian, but I guess everyone knows it :)

I think the cheating takes place in guilt management, but it's been a long time since I read it, so I can't be sure.

Do Justin and Brian eventually wind up together again? I don't mind one or the other being involved with someone else for awhile so long as things are as they should be in the end. :)

Yeah, the author always writes them together in the end. You fact, all of the authors things are good.

O,G. Walton's Fantasy Season has Brian cheating. It's a WIP but he has been updating fairly regularly. You can find it at the Moonshadow Tribe website (see QAF Fic Archives links to the right of this page).

Just FYI, Justin and Brian become involved with a third partner (so it's all three of them together). It's a GREAT story, and you will find yourself addicted pretty quickly.

And then Brian cheats, again. Oh boy. And you can't help but feel terrible for everyone involved.

No offense intended but I'm always surprised that people like the OG Walton series. Personally I find it as offensive as Simon's "The Other Foot" stories. The Brian and Justin characters are so out of character that they make me want to throw up. LOL. I tried to read the stories but they are just so not Brian and Justin and the original character that Brian and Justin supposedly fall in love with and have a three way relationship with is a rich old geezer so that is even more gross.

I agree with you.. The Other Foot by Simon got me really uncomfortable... And the end of the story made me really angry with Brian.
Most of the time I don't like cheat-stories 'cause I think that's a low thing to do to a person, but it's a personal issue of mine so... to each its own. I prefer stories where Justin has strong character and decide to leave Brian before the cheating happens. But whatever rocks your boat!

Lol, this comment is too precious and it matches exactly my thought....nothing worse to a real B/J shipper than those kind of fanfiction, I mean if you really have (whatever the cost) to break Brian/Justin's amazing love at least try to keep them in character, or otherwise let them together in peace and write an original fanfiction!!!!!

Cheating stories doesn't have to have love. Like that time Brian had regular sex with a guy named Max when Justin is in France. Or when Brian had sex with guy from work when Justin and him had kids. In the end, Brian ends up with Justin still. That's actually what I'm searching for.

You might want to check out Thymes Wild Child story. It is post 513 and Brian cuts off all contact with Justin, has a live in boyfriend when Justin and Gus come back into his life. Primarily a Gus bad boy story. The first time I read it I didn't like it but now that some time has passed by and I've read it a couple of times I actually like it. I think I didn't like it at first because I was reading it as it was posted and hated Brian having a live in lover after cutting Justin out of his life. Now I know the ending I can read it and enjoy it. LOL It is a long story but I have it in a word doc that I can send to you.
