I hope that the mods will allow this.

I would like to pimp [livejournal.com profile] help_haiti. This community is raising money to help the relief efforts in Haiti by auctioning off fanfic, graphics, vids, art, audio, other and more stuff.

In particular, there are some writers who had stopped writing for the QAF fandom who are willing to come back and write QAF fanfic, and/or finish unfinished works. So if you have been pining for something in particular, I urge you to peruse the posts at [livejournal.com profile] help_haiti.

It's a sweet deal, you get then last chapter for that abandoned WIP and money is raised for a good cause.

Note: the auctions are not exclusive to QAF related items.

ETA: the mods of the [livejournal.com profile] help_haiti community have put together master lists by fandom to make things easier for folks:
http://community.livejournal.com/help_haiti/5173.html

However, people who offer "any" are not in the listings - so you may find some in the comments here - folks we know are QAF people (or at least they use our icons! ;^)

ETA 2: More folks are adding to [livejournal.com profile] help_haiti every day. Look in the comments to see who's up to what, and what has been added.

Maybe you can help me to understand how this works because I'm not familiar with this kind of auction and for a question of language...I'm not american/english/ect and reading the post in the comm does not help me.
- You make a bid (a offer) for a fics/icon/ect but only to the org listed in this comm?
- If you win the auction how you prove the payment?

Usually every year I make an offer to 'Doctors without Borders' and at this moment in some public collections here in Italy.

I will be grateful for the answer.

Hi! I believe that the way it works is that the winning bidder at the end of the auction makes a new donation in the winning amount to a charity to help Haiti (Doctors Without Borders would be a great one). Then you email the person the receipt that you've received from the organization as proof of your payment and they provide you with your item.

I hope this helps!
