Modifications to the layout

qafmaniac has worked her graphics magic and resized the header and added some new pictures. She's moved the animations from the Sidebar to the Profile page so, for those without a high-speed internet connection, we hope these changes make your page load quickly. Tita also made us a spiffy new icon (the same one I'm using to post with). It's shareable, of course, if anyone wants to snag it.

Please let us know if these modifications improve the page view and your page loading speed. Thanks!

ETA: I changed the font to Georgia because Google says Georgia "is a clear font developed for reading online text," so thought I'd try it out. Y/N? I have to say like the way it looks and reads *much* better (to me) than Times Roman or some of those skinny fonts that are difficult (for me) to read. So yes, basically, we're indulging my eyes. And they thank you very much. lol

I don't see a problem with bolding here on my system. It seems to be working just fine. Where are you seeing a problem?

The text in the post was bolding for me this morning, and when I first commented, but maybe qaf and Court were still messing with it, it's fine, now.

And yeah, it looked like bolded text throughtout. I know I've been working hard, but damn! lol

Hmm, still having the problem. It's just kind of large. It's not as big as it was yesterday though! There should be a font size option in the coding that takes care of it. But, definitely an improvement to yesterday. I'll just make my font size smaller on my page to take care of this problem.

This comment is soooo late. I've been behind on a lot of comments. Apologies! But, yes, thank you! Header looks great and so does everything else. Thank you for being so accommodating. :) It's been very, very easy to manage things around here lately and I've been able to check it at work more often. Yay!

The header is a better width, and now loads in 5 seconds instead of 3 minutes.

I also love that you changed to a serif font! Much easier to read than the sans-serif default that most LJ layouts use.

Love the new layout! I wasn't having a problem with it loading or anything before, but I totally understand the people that did bc my old comp used to take forever with stuff like that too. My only prob with it now is that the text in the sidebar is really really tiny and I can barely read it.

I love the header! And the colors are perfect, too!

I think I also had this bolding/large font problem, but it wasn't bad enough to even register as a problem. The new font is good. The links on the side bar are REALLY small now, though; those were better this morning.

This is all very nice, and much easier to read. I think the font size is just perfect, especially for older eyes, and I prefer the serif fonts - I took a printing class once and they said that sans serif fonts were much harder for people to read, because our brains are wired for serif fonts from an early age (books and newspapers are all printed with serif fonts).

Yay, much faster to load!!!! Still a little long, but as someone said above, it's more like 10 secs when it was 3 minutes, so i'll definitively take it :))

also love how so much more worksafe it is, now i'll be able to load those pages at school (Porn. Always a plus during those boring public law courses.) even more so since the girls and gus are in the middle ;) tends to attract less attention than bj-having-crazy-monkey-sex blinkies ;)

Thank you :) I didn't want to offend, but as lovely as they are, I do find those animated gifs a problem when loading pages. Moving them to the profile was a great idea.

I didn't have any problems with this bolding thing BUT this looks waaay better.LJ uses that damn Arial font and some other sans-serif fonts because every browser can "read" it.
Georgia is a good choice.
I always use Verdana for my customized layouts.That's a serif font just like Georgia and it works in every browser,too. ;)
