I love them. I'm reading Myrna's "Thanksgiving" right now.

There are so many new folks around who get caught up in all the current things, that I don't think they've looked back to find the old stuff. That's why I love it when you pimp your rec lists.

I remember making a comment about some fic soon after I got to fandom and Paddies responding with a "omg, you've never read that before?" which started several recs coming my way and she said how much she envied all the fab fic I was about to read for the first time. I really know what she means now! (Not that reading them for the 1029384098 time isn't good, too, but there's just nothing like the first read.)

I agree and thank you! I know that I'm so fixated on a lot of the older fic but I just think that people who wrote during a time when the show was airing have a different perspective than the people who saw the show after it was over. I have a tendency to like the former.

I totally agree with paddies. I'm always envious of people who have the opportunity to get to read these for the first time. It just leaves you with a good feeling. I remember when a lot of older fic was first posted and I read through it so fast I didn't have time to digest it. Now, there's definitely plenty of time. :)
