Date: 2008-10-20 10:56 pm (UTC)Jeez, everyone is getting so defensive. I understand that my comment was pasted as I said in reference to another comment I made IN DEFENSE of why I write it. I wasn't trying to be rude and as I realize that everyone views things differently I was just explaining my side.
But Mikey hate... bwhaahahha

Date: 2008-10-20 11:10 pm (UTC)You know, I get that there are people that don't like certain characters. It's just really WEIRD to me that in this fandom it's so OPEN and ACCEPTED. It even seems like people assume that everyone hates Michael. Really weird. I've just never been in a fandom where a character was consistently accepted as being written out of character just for the sake of hating them, and everyone just didn't mind it. >_>;
Mpreg on the other hand, is in all fandoms, and people like it or they don't. (I don't, but whatever.) So I guess it's weird to me that people were more offended by a weird type of fic than character bashing.

Not that I haven't read some good anti-mikey stories, but yeah it's odd that it's accepted.

Date: 2008-10-20 11:37 pm (UTC)But I don't know, in final fantasy fandom, for one, there's pretty much character bashing - especially of the female ones by girls writing yaoi slash :D It's frowned upon too, by the more grown-up authors, but well, what can you do about it except ignore it?
And I am not offended by mpreg, argh. I really don't lose sleep about it, I just... don't read it and was curious why others do :D

Date: 2008-10-20 11:40 pm (UTC)But yeah I don't care about mpreg. Most of it seems like crack to me, but that's just me. If people enjoy it, eh, whatever. XP I don't get it either. XD Just something I accept that I'll never understand. XP

Date: 2008-10-20 11:50 pm (UTC)er, yeah. And when you do meet them, sparks fly like whoa and I don't mean the new year's fireworks :D
Let's not talk about the dreaded B/M subject, it lures demons out of the basements *is a hypocrite* Unless you meant Ben/Mikey? D:

Date: 2008-10-20 11:53 pm (UTC)I just think it's sad that people take their pairings so seriously that we can't all enjoy a little weird side-pairings sometimes, too. XP

Date: 2008-10-21 12:09 am (UTC)I don't love Mikey, but when he's written well, then I even like him. A bit P:
For some reason I keep remembering how Hal said that kissing another guy is like kissing a dog. lol. No, Brian is a cat person, definitely.

Date: 2008-10-21 12:01 am (UTC)slash is, you know, when you pick two characters from a book/comic/film/etc, and pair them together. That is, given that they weren't originally together. Then you write porn about them. It's usually gay porn.
yaoi slash is, I think, when you pair up male characters from japanese comics, animations or games. But yaoi is sometimes used by anime fans as general term for homosexual content (esp. fanfic), even though technically it's not yaoi, 'cause yaoi is graphic. If that makes sense, lol. But it's quite possible that I invented the term 'yaoi slash' just now.

Date: 2008-10-21 12:05 am (UTC)Slash is supposed to only be gay couplings, lesbian or male, but always homosexual in nature. However, I think people are starting to use it to mean ANY coupling..... oh, these terms never stay the same. XD;;
It actually was invented in the Trekkie fandom WAY back in the day. It stands for the / that you put between characters names when you're pairing them. It was invented by Kirk/Spock fans. XD

Date: 2008-10-21 01:15 am (UTC)Someone should make a database of internet terms. No matter how long and involved I am I still find myself running across words or acronyms that I have no idea what they mean, though most of the mainstream ones I think I'm on top of. But then you have the whole 'how people define' each term that just goes array.
Thanks for explanation. -Rory
