I just wanted to remind everyone that flaming (of posts, comments, taste in fic, etc) will not be tolerated in this comm. Usually, I will just delete or screen clearly offensive comments, but if I see that somebody's doing it more than once, I might just ban that user from posting here altogether. As you can probably imagine, I'm not too keen on keeping track of people or deleting entries, so I'd truly appreciate it if we could just all go back to looking for fics or fanwork. Which is, after all, what we are here for.
Having said that, I don't really like telling people what exactly they can and cannot say, so my definition of flaming might be a bit less strict than 'usual'. I do think it's okay to have an opinion and it's definitely okay to speak your mind. If this comm is the right place to discuss people's reading habits or bad grammar, however, is highly arguable. In general, I'd say it's probably a good idea to phrase everything you want to say in a way that you yourself wouldn't be offended by, were you to get the same comment from somebody else.
Now, as far as offending anonymous comments are concerned, my recommendation is to just ignore them altogether. Clearly, the person posting those is already aware of their 'dubious' nature, so why bother and care what they have to say? Exactly. And yes, if anonymous comments should be abused in the future for being disrespectful to others, I will consider disabling them altogether. Since that will hardly be helpful for finding fic though, I'd really hate to have to do that. But we'll see.
And now back to our regularly scheduled program. Feel free to comment here with whatever you have to say on the subject, or to send me an email at seanmegansean at livejournal dot com if there are any (other) problems, ideas, concrit, suggestions, etc, you'd like me to think about.
Happy Hunting, everyone :D
