Question About Cross Reference/Looking For Brian Babysits Justin Story & Justin Teacher Story

Hello everyone! Over the course of the next few days/weeks I'm probably going to be posting a few requests, so apologies in advance for the spamming. I've decided to make a master list of the best QAF recs on my LJ and have well over 200 stories to share, about 20 of which I've already shared, so I have a long way to go! For the majority of the stories I'm recommending I don't have any issues but I do have a short list I need help with. Thanks in advance!

1) I like including word counts for each story since page/chapter numbers alone can sometimes be deceiving. Does anyone happen to know the word count for "Cross Reference" by Laciudad? I have a PDF copy but I don't have a copy in Word and can't find it anywhere online. If not, this really isn't a big deal but I just thought I'd throw that out there! Answered! Thanks to miss_alysandra there is a Word copy of "Cross Reference" under the author name of Cara del sol in Aly's GIH 4-Shared Mirror.

2) Looking for a story I read where Brian was Justin's babysitter. Brian is a college or high school student and Justin is a young kid. I'm pretty sure Jennifer ends up feeling uncomfortable by BJ's relationship and she fires Brian. It's not "Hell is Other People" and I've checked all tags with the word "babysit." Found! Thanks to lrknow for finding "Bane Of My Existence" by Jackie which can be found in Aly's GIH 4-Shared Mirror.

3) Looking for a story I read where Justin is a teacher at Gus's school. He meets Brian and they flirt. Justin is a chaperone for a school field trip to the zoo and Brian ends up going as well. Again, I've checked all the "teacher" tags but can't seem to find this particular story. Found! Thanks to chase37 for finding "Wish Upon A Star" by Moonshadow Woman: http://www.midnightwhispers.ca/viewstory.php?sid=199. Another story that is similar was found by apipsc called Chocolate Kisses and its sequel Bear Hugs by LibertySun.

you just browse to the pdf on your drive and it will return a word count

You can find Laciudad's Cross Reference in a Word doc at (my) Aly's GIH 4-Shared Mirror (link in the sidebar).
Just take a look at author Cara del sol. It's her other alias :)

Thank you soooo much! I looked there but didn't realize she wrote under another name. This is very helpful! And thanks for compiling all those stories! I've used the Shared Mirror quite often and found it to be quite helpful! :)

just FYI, there is also a Word.doc copy of "Cross Reference" under the author name of Cara del sol in the 2nd BJFic.net download by blklizard (BJfic Net Stories #2) at http://getithere.livejournal.com/1706675.html#cutid1
BE AWARE - this is a large 18 MB zip file that decompresses into around a 65 MB folder! It's got over 600 fics in it from the old BJfic.net site.

Thanks for letting me know about this. For some reason my computer won't let me download either of them. It says I don't have the appropriate permissions. I'll keep trying to open it up though because it would help me out a lot! Have you, or anyone else, had problems downloading/opening these files?

I'm on an older mac laptop with an older Safari browser that gives me all kinda 'unsupported/not supported' problems with most things these days (including the 4 shared site)
I've already had the BJFic.net #2 folder downloaded for about a year & so could send u just the "Cross Reference" by Cara del sol word.doc from it if u wanna PM me your email address. ~chase

ETA: I just tried & successfully downloaded & opened "Cross Reference" from Aly's GIH 4-Shared Mirror site. It seems to be the same as the .doc from the BJFic.net #2 download. The only minor difference that I can see is only in the file title, being "Cara - Cross Reference 1-9.doc" in BJFic.net #2 & "Cross Reference [by Laciudad].doc" at 4-Shared but the word.docs themselves seem to be identical. Both are 9 chapters, start exactly the same & end with "Le Fin" - so i can now send either or both 4 your own comparison if u still can't get it from Aly's 4-Shared ~chase

Thanks for the offer but I'll just keep the one from the 4-Shared Mirror since it seems to be identical. I was more hoping to download the BJFic.net files to search through them for the stories I can't find. I'll keep trying to download it though. Thanks again! :)

I misunderstood when u said u couldn't download "either of them" as the 4-Shared .doc & the BJfic #2. I realize now that u meant both the BJfic #1 & BJfic #2 downloads, not that u were having problems with 4-Shared.

I also just today see the reason why the .docs are identical as Aly says on her opening page, http://gih.kinnetiks.net/ that "every fic present in those zips (blklizard's downloads) has been added separately to this site." WOW! that's 537 + 646 = 1,183 fics!

Also she has both full zip downloads available there under 'sites' (opposed to 'authors') - If u r still having problems & were using the original blklizard downloads (http://getithere.livejournal.com/1706675.html#cutid1), then maybe try Aly's OR the other way around.

btw, I re-tried the blklizard #2 download at: http://www.sendspace.com/file/ck0l1o & got the 18.3 MB zip (tho it took 3-4 mins) which opened (decompressed) into a 55.3 MB folder of 395 items. Some items r folders w/multiple fics by a single author (hence the 646 fics), all r word.docs.

Ok -- I am 95% certain this is it. I skimmed some of it and looks right, but I'll probably have to read more to make entirely certain. Thank you so much for finding it! And I don't remember reading a sequel so that's great to know there is one! :)

if it isn't, another possibility for your #3, the zoo trip fits... Gus is very withdrawn & is in a special class at the GLC headed by Justin who is a child psychologist - he meets B thru this - Mel is adamantly against any B involvement in Gus's life - B ends up as an official (w/Mel's permission) chaperone for a Saturday field trip to the zoo with J & his class. Okay -- yes, this is it! The other story had a field trip to Hershey Park but I could have sworn it was a field trip to the zoo. But I know I've read (and forgotten) both stories so both are appreciated so I can include them on my list. Thanks! :)

Any of you know of an alternate author name Jackie has used? The only Jackie we have in the author tags is jackiemag, who doesn't seem to be the right person. But the name of the fic is very familiar to me, so I feel like Jackie must be in the tags somewhere already.
