B/J Partners?

I've been thinking about the beginning of episode 4.1 when Justin says to Brian, "I thought we were partners?" when discussing Brian's dire financial situation after the Stockwell thing, and Brian answers, "We are" without hesitation. I'm wondering if there are any gapfillers where somewhere between "The Greatest Reunification Since Germany" in episode 3.9 and episode 4.1, Brian and Justin decide to label their relationship as a partnership.

This is one of the points that make parts of Season 4 and most of Season 5 extremely frustrating. Brian & Justin have come so far to be at that point in their 'relationship' to acknowledge that they're partners and then it just went all over the place. I know it makes for a better storyline to have the main couple break up and make up, but still...urgh!

I'm sorry for venting but there's just something about that scene that I love and would like the keep in my BJ memory bank, not tainted by the frustrating Season 5

I agree completely. I remember gasping the first time I watched the scene in 4.1, for a split second waiting for Brian to throw a negative comment in Justin's face for claiming they were parters. It also makes me so sad in the infamous "Vermont" episode when Brian comes home to an empty loft, calling himself Justin's partner. When comparing those moments to their dynamic in season 1, it's a huge deal for Brian to acknowledge that Justin is more than a guy he's fucked more than once.
