Brian's partner dies

I was sure I had read the summary to this story a few days ago but I checked the Brian/Other tag and couldn't find it. Basically, what I remember is that Brian was with someone for a long time and then this someone dies and then somehow he meets Justin and he doesn't want to love him but ends up doing it? It's vague but it was a request I read here so it's what I remember. Thank you so much!

This sounds like Simon's Other Foot series on the Moonshadow Tribe website, which I liked. Basically, Brian is with Justin when he falls in love with the other character. They part and get back together permanently after the other character dies approximately 20 years later.

Ah that story traumatized me. I've been spending the last few years trying to forget it without succeeding.
