It was great! Almost surreal seeing all of the cast there (except for 'you know who' grrrrrr!). But the cast seemed genuinely happy to be reunited and were very gracious to all the fans. I do hope they will consider staging another one closer to home one day. I ran into Randy and Scott twice - once before and after the con - very odd but I'm NOT complaining - LOL!
The story is that he was offered a 'wonderful opportunity' of some kind and could not get permission granted to leave long enough to attend the con. I sat next to Sharon at lunch one day and am convinced by what she said that he was sincere in his wish to attend and really WOULD have come if he had been able to. I hope they'll have another one someday hopefully in the States so they can all attend - it was a wonderful experience and the actors seemed to be as moved by it as we were.
I really wish when people ask these things here that they'd first take the time to actually look at my journal or contact me in a pm or email, on my journal three entries down it talks about Ardor and me finishing it. Entries like these, by someone who hasn't ever commented on the work from what I can tell, make me as an author appear to have disappeared from fandom or to have abandoned work that I have not. The last update was in February and I'm working on it. I take my writing seriously (possibly a little too seriously) and depending on the subject matter of the fiction it may take me some time to complete them. But anything posted as galeandrandy will always be completed in time. I'm writing this comment in response to not only this request here but there have been others of recent like this one. I do my best to consistently post updates about my progress at my journal of my stories and those entries are public.
Didn't mean to offend you in any way. It was just a question: sometimes, when you comment on a fic that hasn't been updated in sometime, the author doesn't answer, so I thought here I would get my answer sooner.
I'm sure you didn't mean to offend and I don't really take any because you aren't alone in posting a request like this. I figured that posting a reply such as I have will deter anyone else who may be reading through these and explain my viewpoint and other author's views on seeing entries posted like this. I understand that what I think should be reader's etiquette is not always common knowledge. I think it best to go to the author's page, look around, then if the info can't be found, to ask them about the story in a pm or comment, as who else would know the story's progress better?
