1. I was reccing some fiction to my friend Cam, one of the story's was written by Morpheus, Dark Roots. Well, Cam loved that and went to read more fics and then she found the pre-season 3 stories here by Morpheus:

Because I needed to ask something here anyway I figured I'd ask her ? first. I can't recall because its been a LOOOONG time since I read them. Are these all parts in one series? If not, which ones are and which ones are standalone stories?

Edit: #1 Found, thank you [livejournal.com profile] kmboatright for answering the question. They are all a series beginning with Shattered.

2. It isn't my imagination or is it? Marvin Deekins is the incumbent Mayor, meaning he was Mayor and Jim Stockwell was running to de-seat him, correct? I have this feeling that the show has proof of this in an episode and though I've watched 309-314 through and through over the last couple of weeks, I still am not getting it but I could be missing it because I get distracted with all the other wonderful things I'm constantly memorizing while watching my favorite QAF episodes. Help?

Edit: #2 Found, thank you to [livejournal.com profile] besamebj for your help.
Mayor Deekins was Councilmen Deekins before the election. So the current Mayor was not running in the race.

And on that note, I found out that since 1934 all of the mayors have been democrat, with the exception of 2, one who was nominated by both parties and another who claimed Independent/Democrat. I guess I just find it odd that such a democratic city would've so drastically changed to the lengths it did for Stockwell. Yes, yes, I realize that it is not real, but stil.... *sigh*

The page you linked to about Morpheus:
the stories that start with Shattered, and go through The Prisoner of Tremont Street and finish with Golden Gate and Five Years Later, those are set after season two and go AU. If you start with Shattered they all follow one after the other (I've reread them many times). Because they go AU, they won't really make sense if you jump in to the middle instead of reading them in order. Morpheus does have some stand-alone stories, but these are a series. A very very good series.
:)

My favorite of Morpheus' stories is the Trading Spaces series, which starts after the end of season three and goes AU from there, with Brian unable to find a job in the Pitts and finding one in LA.

Deekins was a councilman. In the episode where Brian takes the tape to him, to use against Stockwell, he refers to him as "councilman."

From Wikipedia:

Carl and Debbie's relationship becomes strained during the third season, when Carl feels he has to back Chief Stockwell in the mayoral election or risk reprisal from the police force, while Debbie strongly supports the implied Democrat, Councilman Deekins.

Glad to help, Rory. I remember that moment, because I always thought Deekins was the incumbent mayor too. It's amazing the things you hear when you rewatch eps. :)

My most watched season would be S1, when all was fresh and new. :)

I long ago stopped worrying about the CowLip timeline. That happened after I realized that S4 would've had to have been six months because of Mel's pregnancy. Ridiculous! So I don't think about it too much.

Afraid I don't remember anyone talking about the current mayor at that time. Sorry!

Sorry my own website - http://www.morpheusqaf.com/ - is so confusing! Unfortunately, I can no longer access the site to organize the series and stories in a more user-friendly fashion.

Thanks for the lovely comments!
