....so...does anyone have the "DL Lost Fics Here" all backed up somewhere?

ETA: It seems that a few people have those fics all backed up. A couple people are also willing to set up DL archives inside of their own websites. See the comments for more details.

Okay, so this is more of a rant rather than anything, but this is fucked up!!! Not only do I have all the QAF stuff there, BUT I also have another account with them with several personal files, including my thesis plus family pics and other documents. This is ridiculous! Do they realize that while they're "trying" to stop illegal file sharing, they have now done something illegal themselves!! Megaupload is a file sharing site. Companies use the damn site to store client information for crying out loud! Anonymous should permanently disable more than the FBI's damn site, and see how they like that. I am so mad right now!



At any rate, before I blow a freaking artery here, below is a breakdown of the stories that were available for download from Megaupload. Maybe we can do some sort of check, where people comment stating if they have a back up of a story, and where it is uploaded... And while we're add it, we might as well do a check of what's in the other sites, because at this point I don't know what's gonna happen.

I've actually got several of these stories backed up in Word on my hard drive, BUT...I have a nasty little habit of editing as I read, so I'm sure my backups wouldn't be welcome here...sorry!

Now that I see what has been going on with these file sharing sites, I kind of wish I had left them alone, but I'm afraid I suffer from a bit of OCD that won't allow me to leave misspelled words, incorrect punctuation, etc. alone :(

Quite frankly, if all you edited were misspelled words, and punctuation, then I don't see anything wrong. The story itself is still the same as far as I'm concerned. And having something, is much better than having nothing at all.

Yeah...I feel the same way, but without opening a big 'ol can of general bullshit :) from some members, I would never upload them. Some would totally 'cyber' bitch slap my ass for that!

Let me amend...if any particular author (of any one of these stories) gave permission because they no longer have a copy of their own, I would be glad to share.
