I know this kind of request is pretty unusual but I actually wanna read about Brian meeting and then dating and being happy with someone else, it doesn't hve to be anti-Justin at all
it could be post 5-13, or simply AU, but I'd like Brian to be in character and no need for any kind of drama

Do you know a fic like that please?

Agree, I was too. I hoped until the end that Brian did it better but he was a son of a bitch and Simon rewarded him over the whole fic. Three years ago and my feeling is the same when I was reading this bitter fic.

I think the autor is a very good one because how he/she makes us feel,
Justin usually is a poor kid, deaf, blind, VIH...who always goes better but Simon gave him an awful life

if you go to this page http://www.randalls-fiction.com/stories.php and read the stories "Blue Lights" through "Reconstructing Brian" (those four stories follow each other) they have Brian get involved with another guy (and they are really fantastic and well written) though I don't know if that's the kind of thing you're looking for or not.

Also, there is a story called Swamp Fever you might like (it has Brian with someone else, and may be more what you're looking for) though I don't remember how to find it. The author was Brian Hennessey I think.

Just finished reading 2 great fics by Ashleigh Kinnerson on RidiculouslyRomantic.com. Called "The Education of Allan Carson" and "Graduation of Allan Carson". Its anti-Mel, very little Mikey, none of the gang. Justin and Brian don't marry Justin moves to New York, Brian meets and falls in love with Allan (who is straight...) he and Allan move in together, Justin is ok with it then moves to Europe and falls in love. Brian and Allan and Lindsey and a OCC character names Lori live together in Canada then move to Britin and end up with lots of kids. Justin comes home after 10 year ( he has a daughter with Lindsey) Justin, Allan and Brian enter into a relationship.

The end is kind of odd but its 19 great chapters.

I generally tend to stay away from B/Other as they totally break my heart, but it's kind of like a bad accident...sometimes you just can't look away. I usually have to read a lot of fluffy stuff afterwards to calm myself. I have been trying to 'psych' myself up to finally read "Swamp Fever" and "Burn". I've had it saved for about 2 years now and I keep hearing how good it is & how well written, so I'm about to take the plunge. Wish me luck!

Kat - I am now on Ch. 15 & I have to say...the way the author introduced the story does take the sting out of the B/Other coupling. I don't think I'll ever find myself saying 'Justin who?' but I think I might be able to actually handle this one. Justin has not been introduced yet, so I don't know how I'll feel when he has to witness B and another. I guess it will all depend on how he handles it.

Just going from the show, I don't ever see Brian giving his heart away to anyone other than Justin. I guess I'm just a diehard B/J shipper, but I always choose to believe after 513, they found one another again. I just can't see him with anyone else, but hey...I'm not so out of touch with reality that I don't realize these are fictional characters but I do tend to get highly emotionally involved. Doesn't speak too highly of my 'real life', huh? Oh well, off to continue this surprisingly good story!

However, I did indulge in that bit of hyperbole just to emphasize how damn good Brian's AU fiction is. I know I've paid good money over the years for books that couldn't hold a candle to his work. Just sayin'...

You are so right about the quality of his writing! I am now on Ch. 62 because I haven't been able to put it down except for necessary sleep.

Not only is the B/B action hot, but the suspense is killing me. That being said, I still don't know how I'm going to feel when Justin is added to the mix.

Oh...and I do love the way Brian got some things off his chest to Mikey & Lindsay (I never could stand either one of them!)

I believe the reason why most don't like to read Brian and other is because on the show Brian was never with anyone other than Justin. what I don't get is the writer's that wrote theses story were mean and hateful toward Justin. I for one fine them so boring that they are funny.

I am now on ch. 36 of Burn & like I said in an above post...I don't think I'll ever see the day where I say 'Justin who?' because I just loved him & felt so much for his character on the show. I just can't "realistically" (if there is such a thing when you're speaking of fictional characters) see Brian giving his heart away to anyone other than Justin, but I do realize that these ARE fictional stories & approach them as such.

The writing is definitely of a professional quality and very entertaining but I have to say - my heart is remaining just a little broken by the fact that Brian is experiencing all these feelings with Boyd rather than Justin. I'm sure I'll have to read some fluff when I'm done & then maybe I'll work up the nerve to give yours a try. At least, in yours, Justin isn't around to witness Brian losing his heart to someone else.

I'll let you know when I've shored up my emotions & read yours!!!

I tried to pm you, but couldn't because of privacy settings or something, but I told you I'd let you know when I got my heart ready to read 'Beyond All Reason'. I was pleased to find it was not a heartbreaker, as I always assume it will be with a death fic.

It was truly a wonderful story & I love your writing style (even though it's always bittersweet when it's not BJ).

well in my opinio, which is totally perosnnal and pretty changing, I can really easily imagine Justin moving on with his life in NY, and I like to think that Brian can be able to do the same, with probably someone VERY different from Justin in a totally different relationship. But i think Brian really changed from s1 to s5 and even if Justin is breaking his heart, he will be able to love someone else.
And as a matter of fact i found a story (pretty long one so i havn't had the time to go through all the other link) in which Brian is really in charachter and he meets someone that slowly gets over Justin ( who is living his own life in New York)
Anyway I totally understand that it's a matter of point of view and we all have our own perception of the characters, personnaly my perception is contantly changing and I know most of my opinions were influenced by fanwork i read so anyway I don't think there is any 'real and only' truth.

I am a very biased B/J lover. To me the main story in QAF was the ups and downs of their relationship. Brian never loved anyone in "that way" until Justin got under the wire. Remember that he was already 30! Brian having a romantic relationship with anyone else is AU to me. We never see any evidence that Brian has romantic interest in anyone else aside from J. End of story, as far I'm concerned,

But of course, it is a matter of opinion, and we will just have to agree to disagree. :)
