Something cheerful please people

getithereOk, so I just got done reading Remission by Simon. It was a good story. However, I suddenly feel the need to read something upbeat. Anything upbeat.
It doesn't have to be fluffy or sappy, just cheerful. But not crackfic, please.
Any help would be seriously appreciated.

Edit: I have a couple of super-fast recs in the comments, but any others would be appreciated.
Edit 2: This was not meant as a reccomendation. While meaning no offence to the author, this is a truly depressing story, made far, far worse by the personal connections and reality it involves. It is not a story I will ever re-read. If you do choose to read it, don't blame me when it upsets you.
