Justin sings 'On My Own' for an exam.

Basically, Justin has this music or a final exam where the teacher makes boys choose songs sung by women, and girls choose songs sung by men; they have to sing it for their exam. They draw it from a hat or a box. Justin ends up drawing 'On My Own', and he practices secretly at home. 

I believe Justin also has two friends, one who keeps getting nervous before the exam and possibly, throwing up? Or hyperventilating.

I might be confusing this fic with another fic, but they also possibly fall down the stairs at one point because of some kids. Brian nearly walks in on him practicing, once. Brian brings him to the exam, and Justin tells him to wait (or go?), but whatever it was, Brian stays.

He gets out after a while, and catches snippets of Justin and his friends having a conversation about someone's nerves, who claims he'll be all right.

At the end, Brian does hear Justin singing 'On My Own', I can't recall if Brian says something to Justin or not.  Thanks!

does anybody know if the sequel to this was finished? its only got 3 chapters up on the MW site and it was last update over a year ago.

for some reason, I seem to recall more chapters than just the three. I think she updated it in her LJ site, but I can't find it. I don't know if it was ever finished... thought I would love if it was!
