There's a scene like that in vamphile's Keeping series. The frist part, Brother's Keeper, has Justin living in NYC and visiting. Brian goes there and meets his friends at one point. During the rest of the series, he interacts with several of them off and on. You can find it at her LJ

Also, xie_xie_xie's Only Time series has one of Justin's NYC friends visiting off and on.
