Not completely what you were looking for but there are a few scenes of this kind in the 'Sunshine Series' when they are trying to get Brian to sign over his parental rights to Gus.

For some reason, I thought about Psychofic by laylafic. It's not exactly what you're looking for; rather, in this fic, Melanie realized it herself and changed her view about Brian. If you haven't read this one, I'd highly recommend it ^^.
