From what I remember its post season 3. Brian can't find work in PA and gets a job in California. He "exchanges" apartments with someone and he and Justin move to CA. Justin gets a job as a waiter.
The part I remember is: One night Justin goes with Brian to a work event. Brian's boss is cool but wishes Brian would have told him beforehand. After the work party Brian goes with Justin to a party at the house of someone he (Justin) works with. There's something with bbq chicken.
Anyone know the fic? I think I may have read it at Across the Pond.
