I can't remember the title or author but it's a really good story!

I believe when Justin went to California, he decided to stay. He and the boyfriend had a house together, then he got sick and died. He made Justin promise not to tell their friends until after he was dead, and one of the friends yells at Justin after the funeral.

Justin decides to return to Pittsburgh, and Brian helps with the move.

No kids involved.
