Here are a couple of random suggestions from my memories!

The Sudden Stop (http://julad.livejournal.com/64096.html) by Julad. Very angsty, but very, very sweet.

Also, pretty much everything by bigboobedcanuck fits the bill. As does nearly all of severina2001's writing. They both tend to be on the sweet/nearly-sappy side.
