Does anyone remember a fic in which Justin dies in a multi-car pile up? I also seem to remember that Brian and Michael were on their way to meet Justin at Britin and maybe Jennifer (I seem to recall Brian not wanting to answer the phone since he seemed to just *know* what had happened) called while they're in the car to tell Brian. I do remember that Brian pulls off the road and looses it.

Am I remembering an actual fic?

You are remembering an actual fic. Justin has just moved back from NYC. I occasionally dip my toe in the death!fic end of the pool, but it's rare and I don't usually remember titles or authors. But I can tell you you're not hallucinating. ;)

The prologue to this is similar in that Jennifer phones Brian, but there's another one that the requester is asking about that I'm thinking of that has Brian find out while in the car with Michael.

You're right - it's another one that I'm looking for, but I will be reading this one, too, once I get home from work. :)

Sorry I don't have a working link, but I think the one you are looking for is the second view of Nei miei sogni: dirt and dust and air by Kiden. If you are thinking of the fic where Jennifer phones while Brian is on the way to meet Justin, driving with Michael in the car and Brian doesn't want to answer the phone but eventually does and Michael has to try to comfort Brian at the side of the road.

OMG! I just read this, you were so right, I cried in every chapter. Just brilliant, even if it did break my heart.
