There's a fic out there that has Brian and Justin exchanging blank e-mails because they're apart for some reason. I don't know if it was one of the canon breakups or going to California/NY for Justin but when he gets to wherever he's going he sends Brian a blank e-mail and they keep exchanging them. There's a lot of the story devoted to how well Justin knows Brian to do something that didn't use words etc. etc....
