B/J and Gus go Skiing

I seem to remember a fic (or series maybe) from Gus' POV (he's older - teenager maybe), and he goes skiing with Brian and Justin - no clue on where they went skiing. I remember Justin gets lost and ends up with some random family living at the bottom of the other side of the mountain or something very similar. He may or may not have amnesia. I'm also wanting to say that Gus was with Justin - ooh! ooh! I think it was an avalanche, and Justin was trapped in it. Brian and Gus go home thinking Justin died.

Well, you're either mixing two stories or there's another avalanche one I'm not aware of (totally possible).

There's one that's an abandoned wip where Justin was in Italy (i think), gets caught in an avalanche and is presumed dead. Brian is devastated and a few years pass. He glimpses Justin on a news report or something and he & Mikey go over there. Meanwhile, Justin has lost his memory and has been rescued by a brother & sister. The brother is in love with Justin and lies to Brian when he comes looking for Justin. Never finished, as far as i know.

There is one with Gus as an older teenager and they're all three skiing in Vermont, but I don't remember any details.

And there's another one (AU?) where B/J get lost in a snowstorm, find a cabin and spend quite a bit of time there before they can be rescued. In fact, I think they try to hike out and Brian gets hurt. Justin has to drag him on a rigged up litter of some sort. omg, I can't beleive I'm remembering this. I read it a longgg time ago. ;))

I also remember a story similar to the one that you thought of. In the story Justin always felt that he came third in Brian's life after Gus and Michael, evidenced after all four are involved in a car crash and Brian focuses on getting the other two to safety first. He doesn't realise that Brian believes that Justin is more capable and self-sufficient than Gus or Mikey.

Justin decides to leave Brian and drives off into the night only to have a car accident. He is found and cared for by a widow with young children, in a house way off the beaten track.

Brian and Gus frantically try to find Justin and the story has a somewhat supernatural ending, where the children are real but the mother is not. B and J end up adopting the children.

This might be another of Elsa Rose's stories but maybe someone else has a lead on it...

You're right. There is a story where they go to Vermont and Gus takes a friend. They get caught in an avalanche and Justin saves Gus, but gets swept away. He floats down a river and lands where a pregnant woman finds him and because of the snow and remote location they cannot get out. But darned if I can remember the title or author. Let me look in my files.
