Uh, greetings. Apparently I am somewhat of an asshat, and I've gotten it in my head (heart?) that 510 AU's where Justin dies are the coolest thing since sliced bread. I deeply desire wishing-for-what-could-have-been!Brian.
Help asister fellow out? :D
ETA: Links in comments to the death. Of course, now I've realized I'm one of those weepy people, so living in a hole is starting to sound nice.

Date: 2007-11-07 01:52 am (UTC)Alas, the sad often calls me too. I usually don't answer it though. I don't know of any post-510 Justin dies fics. Of course I don't really read death!fics on a regular basis.
I'd say good luck but Justin death!fics make my heart hurt :(

Date: 2007-11-07 01:22 pm (UTC)Seriously, I'm not asking for death porn. Or suicide fic. I probably didn't phrase my search in a fitting manner, but I'm just not inclined to be serious.

Date: 2007-11-08 03:51 am (UTC)I do feel bad about pushing you to quit, though. It's not as if we're really associating. I sincerely doubt I'll ever post again, much less make bi-weekly hunts for fics that include HIV, Suicide, Homicide, Poison...patricide. (What? Craig is an ass)
And, what I meant by not being serious, was that I don't take life seriously. I'm very mellow, and I tend to pick fun at everything short of nuclear explosions. I do really love QAF, though, and I hope you don't leave. I'm really not worth it.

Date: 2007-11-08 03:51 pm (UTC)If *she* weren't "serious" about Brian and Justin, I doubt Justin deathfics would hold any interest. You cry over someone you care about.
And sometimes you need a good cry.
PS - bookgirl, I think you've handled this thread amazingly. Sorry, my pockets are empty in the way of deathfics, but if I ever find any worth phoning home about, I'll let you know.

Date: 2007-11-08 04:20 pm (UTC)I handled it amazingly? If I was half as eloquent as you, perhaps I wouldn't have come off as such huge of an ass.
Seriously (seriously), thank you for the support. And, uh, everything you said, in defense to my post. ;)

Date: 2007-11-08 06:08 pm (UTC)I don't think you came off as an ass - at least not to people who didn't have their heads stuck up their own to begin with. You gave much more respectful answers to comments than I would have, that's for sure. Death might not be everyone's cuppa, but such is life. I mean, I don't like feet. That doesn't make me a good or bad person. It makes me a person who doesn't like feet.

Date: 2007-11-08 04:58 am (UTC)Yes, NOTdeath!fic does have a happy ending... but have you been reading "Painting Lessons" by
no subject
Date: 2007-11-08 05:53 am (UTC)Oh, god yes. I'd only seen it recced 8 or 9 times before I screwed my original trepidation over reading a WIP and grabbed the train. It exceeded my expectations, despite all the good word. My strange little heart thumped away at the idea of a fic with severe brain damage that was so about 'the love'.
It sucked me in like a hoover. Jans!Fic is amazing. If I didn't have issues with Justin!Hooker fic I'd be all over Noir, too.

Date: 2007-11-08 05:58 am (UTC)I haven't tried "Noir" either, but after "Painting Lessons" and "Apple" are done I might give it a chance. If it's like the rest of her stuff it's probably going to be good. Her fics are all sort of out there, but they are seriously so full of teh love it's incredible. And despite the completely random circumstances/places/setting/backstories she's still able to keep Brian and Justin in character somehow.
no subject
Date: 2007-11-08 06:24 am (UTC)Apple is great because, hello, hot slave action. And the way Brian is completely stripped of any control he might have had, and Justin is bit by bit giving it back to him. Which is great, because it's almost dead opposite to what happens on the show, but they're still exactly the same people. Just with different experiences.
After Noir finishes I think I'm going to have a Jans!Fic party and sit and read everything she's written in one go. It will be a marathon of great.

Date: 2007-11-13 08:54 pm (UTC)You really should read Noir though. Justin isn't really a hustler in it... it's hard to explain really. You just have to trust me.
Jan is amazing! She builds worlds I can't get enough of her stuff. And she's at her absolute best in Noir in my opinion! Go Read!

Date: 2007-11-13 10:49 pm (UTC)Practically asking for spoilers here, but, not hustler? Or only not a hustler in the sense that he doesn't dance on weekdays. (I'm refraining from the crude)
She is an amazing pupper master, both with her readers and the golden couple. I'm all but salivating at the new Blue Lagoon fic. Something I never thought I would say.

Date: 2007-11-13 11:05 pm (UTC)Well.... Justin is sort of...well... eh... I CAN'T REALLY EXPLAIN without giving out spoilers! Let's just say that in the world of Noir there are more like him that originally was meant to please....
And Noir!Brian is more battered and bruised with more scar tissue and walls up than ever....
Justin's strong and he's brave and he's... Oh for the love of Liberty Avenue! Just go read will ya! *LOL*

Date: 2007-11-13 11:24 pm (UTC)I was going to read it a month ago, I think, but I started and Justin was in a silk robe?... I am sort of a connoisseur of bad fic (not that Jan!fic is anything of the sort), so I have high tolerance for just about anything, but my three squicks are silk robes, long hair, and hustlers. Oddly, they were all in QAF at some point.
Wah. I haven't even begun to read Noir and I'm mesmerized.
