Anyone remember this?

Okay, I remember reading  a story a long time ago but only this certain part sticks out in my mind.

Justin has a very bad cold and is grumpy with Brian.  It's around the holidays and he and Brian are on in Brian's jeep on their way to either Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner with "the family", and Justin's not happy about having to go.

This is an older story, and I believe it's complete.  Does it ring a bell for anyone?

I've started reading the series, and it's near the beginning, but I believe it goes back and forth between present and past, so it could be multiple chapters.
