Downloading from fanfiction sites.
Aug. 3rd, 2016 09:54 amI need to download my fics more than ever. I was terribly disappointed not to be able to download from Midnight Whispers as I had been able before. Is it still possible? I'm having a very difficult time with the site.

Date: 2016-08-06 11:26 am (UTC)Until recently the net or web (or site or something??) was automatically converting it but now if I use the old URLs I get the 404, file not found message. When that happens, while it's still on the screen, I just put the cursor after the 'a' (in .ca before the /) up in the URL bar, backspace twice, type in net, then enter. That makes it work for me.

Date: 2016-11-04 03:46 am (UTC)This will bring up the entire story on a new tab. When it finishes loading, control+A (which highlights the entire story), control+c (to copy), open a Word Document, control+V (to paste). Save it as type "Rich Text Format" then convert to whatever in Calibre.
Maybe someone else knows a less "stepy" process, but it works for me & I still have the contents. I don't listen to my fics, so I don't know what to tell you about that, but maybe this will work for you. Hope so!
