I read a multi chapter Fic about a young man (Justin) with untapped powers who escapes an evil warlock who wants to steal his powers. There is a witch (Lindsey) there are shape shifters, one of the shifters is a teacher (Brian)in a human village, the shifters protect...I think the witch teaches the young man how to use his powers?

It's a rec from someone that was posted on LJ it's been making me crazy trying to find it again.

NOT Forever in Darkness. I love that one though.
