Gus Fics

1. Are there any fics that center around Gus an adult (college age or older. High school would be okay too) and his relationship with Brian. Maybe they form a closer bond somehow.

2. Are there any fics where Gus gets into some sort of trouble (drugs, emotional issues, whatever) and Brian helps him out?

Fics that fit one or both of those requests are greatly appreciated. Thank you and have a great new year!

Update: Some great recs listed below. Thanks to all the contributors!

If you haven't yet, look under the tags for "brian bonds with gus," "gus is an adult," "gus is a teenager," and "gus does drugs." (Also, "gus fics," but that's a pretty wide range of Gus versions lol.)

Sure! The tags are my domain, but there are too many for most people to be able to know there's one that fits just what they're looking for :)

One of my fics by Thyme called Wild Child might fit the bill for #2.

I co-wrote one where Brian and Gus are close (Gus is in high school). It's an AU where Justin is the new student in school, and guess who develops a crush on him? Obviously, we've played with the timeline, but you might enjoy it. There IS angst, but it ends in a good place for father and son. Here's the link just in case:

Fits most criteria.

Shadownyc has a Fic called "The Gus Diarie" although it hasn't been update since July 2013 the are over 100 chapters if I recall correctly. Covers pretty much Gus/brian and Jstin from Gus' early Tweens to college.

Healing by Sydney Alexis is an excellent Gus fic. One of the best out there in my opinion. Lots of angst, it is sad, sad, sad (seriously crying every time I read it), but lots of love between Gus and Brian.

Where can I find this fic? Thank you...

It is in the GIH MediaFire Fic Folder that is listed on the right of this page. I believe the link is: http://www.mediafire.com/view/putzsrqc75fxspm/Sydney_Alexis_-_QAF_Fics.pdf

Does anyone know if Healing is actually finished as it seems to end very suddenly or is it years old and that's all there is :-(

Yes, Healing is finished. However, there were a couple of bonus chapters/storylines with adult Gus.

There was the original epilogue to the story entitled, "Epilogue: Sketch".

Then there was bonus chapter entitled, "Clipped - Healing - Lindsay [.094 Independence]".

And after that, "The Abigail Arc", then "The Elizabeth Arc".

two recommendations

There is always the wonderful classic by Myrna "Growing up Kinney" http://www.qafcaps.com/queereyes/fic/guk_01.html (by the way, all her fics are the most exquisit treats, but nothing will ever EVER compare with her "If you needed me" series. http://www.qafcaps.com/queereyes/fic/iynm_01.html. I still can't get over the fact that she is not writing anymore)

Another really good one involving Gus is Rhiannonhero's "If you're lost you can look", although you would have to invest a little bit of time since it is a sequel to "Into my arms", and you should definitely start with that for full impact. Both fics are really good and the description of Brian's relationship with Gus is the best and most believable I've come across so far.

I wrote a standalone with Gus as a teenager living with Brian and Justin.
