I csn't ever manage PDF format. The files download ok but then I can't open them, whatever I try. It's so frustrating, but I can only read the doc format.
Hey thereā¦I've converted it to EPUB, HTMLZ and MOBI. Calibre doesn't have a Doc option and when I tried to convert it manually it came out all wonky. Hopefully one of these formats will work for you. Send me a PM with your email address and I'll send them to you. :)
I'm on an older mac & have similar problems. 4 me, it's 'docx' from Aly that download & show as an icon on my desktop, but I can't open it. With them, or PDFs, I can then use a free conversion site to change it into a regular doc. It apparently still uploads successfully to the site from my desktop, even tho I can't open it. It doesn't always work great...but it usually does render it readable 4 me. I've been using http://www.zamzar.com/ for this.
If it comes back (particularly PDFs) askellankyledescribes, 'wonky'...I can usually fix it once it's a .doc pretty much w/stuff like 'wrap to window' & w/ 'select all', under format > 'font' scroll to 'Kern' & click on 'use default' (when the letters seem scrunched together or under 'spacing' click on 'single' if the lines seem scrunched together)
Have u tried something like this to get at your un-openable PDFs?
