7000 posts and a heart-felt 'THANK YOU!'

That's right, 7000 posts to this comm!

I love the fact that, even 8 years post-series, this comm is as strong as it was when created in 2004.

A couple of shout-outs:

First, to cabtastic and seanmegansean, the originators of this comm. Thank you for creating what has to be the original fic search site of this fandom. As most things have gone by the wayside, it's great to know that this is, truly, the last comm standing from the glory days of Queer As Folk. SMS, thank your for trusting me with your baby. I hope that I've done you proud.

Next, to my co-mods, court1429 and wouldbedorothy. This comm would not function without you. Court came in when I desperately needed help, first as post police, and then as the creator of the TAGS LIST as it stands today. I was content to continue using the Memories to store posts. lol And our beloved Dot, who came in when real life kept Court and I from spending as much time as we used to here, taking the reins and refining the TAGS. In fact, she is forever in charge of them, and Court and I aren't allowed to mess with them anymore. lol

Third, to the phenomenal pfodge kari77 and qafmaniac for our lovely layout and sidebars. Special kudos to Patty for converting many fics into PDFs for the comm's perusal and to Tita, who...good lord. She is our Q. She can fix anything, from coding issues to finding storage for our fic files to...well, she's Tita. She's amazing.

Last, and certainly not least, is you, our members. Without you, this place would be gathering dust. We've had our share of fun and drama, and really, this is probably the most drama-free place on LJ. There are new posts daily, if not weekly, and really, how many comms do you know, outside of Harry Potter fandom, that are as active as we are?

So again, from Dot, Court and I, thank you, members of Get It Here. Stop by this post and say hi, bring a friend if you want. This comm is open to all and will remain so. Here's to the next 7000 posts!

My first (and only) fandom. My first steps into the world of the internet. My first findings of BJ stories. It all was like a formule 1 one race without any rules or streets, just me trying to find new stories. And then, finally, after some confusing times, I found this comm. Uncountable stories I found over here, uncountable ideas to read or re-read. I love this community!

This makes me feel old, next year on November 8th, you'll have to do some kind of big 10 year anniversary celebration. So, you have a year, start gearing up and thinking of ideas. I know this isn't a fic writing community, but I think it would be awesome for this community to host something (maybe truly in a side-community). After BJFIC.NET got stolen (lol) this place became the center of the BJFIC world. And it still is.

I love all of you guys for everything you've done for this fandom and this amazing site that has had a huge part in defining fiction in this fandom.

Before stumbling into this site, I'd only found Midnight Whispers and Across The Pond. I thought I'd read all the QAF-fic out there.

I was thrilled, through following this comm, to find I'd only uncovered the tip of the QAF iceberg. What an amazing - and constantly entertaining - discovery GetItHere has been to this starving/striving artist!

When I log on after reading what e-mails I have - and before actually reading said e-mails I look at what has been posted on this wonderful site. The moderators are people of great generosity to work so hard for all of us. I don't know how you lot do it, it must be very hard work and it's never-ending (or I hope it is). I agree with every single comment here, for me to it's like GPS or Google maps. A little over a year into the fandom and this is my mainstay. I'll stop bye at least once or twice a week for suggestions & ideas on what to read next...
