Seeking fics

Hi,

I'm new to QAF fandom and I hope you can help me find some good reads. I would love to read some good B/J fiction. I prefer novel length stories with a good plot and not to OOC characters. I don't mind angst but I prefer a happy ending. Can you please help a poor newbie in this fandom out cuz I have only been able to find two stories I actually like namely Omelet and Raw. (On a sidenote I prefer stories not told from a POV unlless done right.)

Oh, you most definitely would have found some bad fic. Hell, I've read plenty. lol I've never been in a fandom before so can't compare, but I will say that there is an enormous pool of excellent writers in this fandom.

The ones you were rec'd are all fab. Regarding Plum's BYBR, read Framed first, then begin BYBR. You are welcome to check my memories; also join qaf_retread. This is a rec comm and only the good stuff is rec'd. There still may be fics you won't care for (e.g, I don't read high school fics and stay away from certain AUs), but quality-wise, they're all good and a lot are truly outstanding.

Also, join qaf_challenges, qaf_drabbles, bj_action for more fic. Join qaf_coffeeclub for fun conversations. paddies's website Queer Eyes is an archive site and most everything on there is very good.

Another good way to find fic is to see who people have friended and then check those folks' memories to see if they have written anything. That's how I started, and I'd say at least 2/3 of the people on my flist write, or did write in the fandom at one time. Some have moved on to other fandoms now that the show is over. How lucky are you to all this incredible fic awaiting you!! :)

i want to second the suggestion that you join qaf_retread all the fics there are categorized by author, good, and completed.

there are a lot of abandoned WIPs out there.

Oooh, yes, do look at xie_xie_xie's stuff. I also agree with joining the LJ communities mentioned above. I started with qaf_retread, myself.

I also recommend checking out severina2001, mclachlan, flashfly and suzvoy, though these of course are based on my personal likes, and everyone has their opinion of what's OOC. Though rhiannonhero's Omelet was my very first tastes of QAF fanfic ;-)

I've got about 160 fics rec'ed in my memories (http://www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=etharei&keyword=Recommended+Stories+-+QaF&filter=all) and while most of them are long-ish some are told from a POV. It should be easy enough to tell from the header and first paragraph, though.

Hi! I just found this community and was scanning around. Reading your request, I thought I'd pimp my own stories. The first is a post-513 story, A Love That Will Never Grow Old (http://www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=bdeviled&keyword=A+Love+That+Will+Never+Grow+Old&filter=all). There's plenty of angst, but I promise a happy ending! The second is a sequel to it, Into the Sunset (http://www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=bdeviled&keyword=Into+the+Sunset&filter=all). In my stories I strive to be strictly in character, and although they are POV, I hope they are done right! If you decide to check them out, let me know if I've succeeded (on both counts).

Regardless of whether or not you read mine, I welcome you to the fandom and hope you find lots of fics that meet your preferences!
