getithereJustin is in N.Y. (I think). He gets a dog. Brian doesn't care for the dog BUT Justin gets attacked in his garage and, if it wasn't for the dog's barking, Justin would have bled to death so Brian softens to the dog. Also I think this is in the same fic: Justin has (Gus maybe) a child in his car driving back from Pittsburg to N.Y.
