getithereI think this is a Moonshadow Woman story but have been unable to find it...
Gus and his dog are hitch-hiking when Justin picks them up. He had run away because his Mom's wouldn't let him keep his dog which he felt was his only real friend. Justin is off to teach school in Kansas or somewhere there abouts and takes Gus with him. I don't remember much else except Brian finds them and spends the holidays with them
