Looking for long multi-chaptered non-angsty fics.
I know some people will cringe about this request, but I just found a long multi-chaptered fic called "Fireside Chats" by Dale. It will take me all year but, I'm already reading "The Sunshine FIles" and "The Gus Diaries" and have added this to the list. The angst is minimal and usually everyone gets along. These are great to listen to on my e-reader while driving or having to clean the house. I don't mind that the characters are OOC and in "Fireside Chats", "honey" and "baby" are used as terms of endearment. I was wondering if there any more stories out there like these.
UPDATE: I want to thank everyone for their help. I compiled a list of the stories found. See comments.

I guess I'm looking for more rare fluffy novel length fics -- something that won't have me crashing into the car in front of me as I'm driving. I have even missed my exit on the expressway listening to one angsty story.
Do I need to make an addendum to my request?

Besides the "novel length" and "ooc" tags, we also have "fluff," "schmoop," and "happy fic." I'm not sure how much overlap there is (most of the really long fics ARE quite angsty), but it could be worth a look.

I thought I read all of your stories, but I don't remember that one. It looks good and angsty. I'll never be able to concentrate on the road while listening to it. I love "Charades" and it looks like it has similar, fast-paced action to it, so I'll copy that one to read before bed. It's always good to have another novel length story to read.
Thanks!
Sandra:)
PS: The amount of reviews don't deter me. I have noticed that they don't always reflect the quality of the work. I like to make my own judgement.

If you like it, there are sequels.

*embarrashed grimace* I actually read BTWYTWY some time ago. That just may be one of my lurker stories -- you know, the ones you always meant to review and never got around to it. I will rectify that this weekend if that is the case.
But that is another one I can't drive and listen to at the same time. That was deeply angsty. I enjoyed it, but the sequels will have to go on my 'sit down' or 'before bed' list. Hmm... I think remember the sequel started with the kids as teenagers...
Please let that not be another one of my lurker stories... *face palm*
Thanks and sorry Gina. And I know this is a so wrong to ask, but are you going to write a sequel to "Broken Open"?

A few people have asked me if I'm going to write a sequel to BO I'd like to but I have to find a plot that will work for them and I'm not 'feeling' it right now. Now THAT story was angsty~! lol
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you!

You're right, though. "The End Justify the Means" does fit the category I'm looking for. I forgot about them because it was written in a series and not chapters.
Thank you for the great stories.

My first e-reader was an Kindle. I loved it. It had the text to speech in the experiment mode. It was a little mechanical but I got used to it. The Fire doesn't have that option the last time I checked.
I have a Nook HD that now has a reader option. The voice is even more mechanical, but I've gotten used to it.
As I far as I know, you don't have the test to speech options for the Kindle app on iphones (I have one) or any other devices, but my husband said that sometimes your system could have a separate option for it.
Good Luck,
Sandra:)
PS: The Kindle Touch is relatively inexpensive right now and it has text-to-speech.

I'm an artist, working 99 hours a day, so also usually have to 'listen' instead of read. I don't have a Kindle or other electronic reader, so let my PC do the work with Natural Reader software. They have a FREE version; just the thing for starving -- I mean 'striving' -- artists addicted to fanfic! ;-)

loooong relatively angst-free
Re: loooong relatively angst-free
I'm relatively new to QAF, but because I'm a voracious, fanatical reader, I thought I had read everything. I'm surprised that there's still so much out there for me to discover. I love so many of the new writers and the new stories, but apparently there are several rarely mentioned older fics I have yet to explore.
Thank you for the Paeansong rec anyway because it should be mentioned. It is verrry happy dance worthy. :)

The series start with Getting It right (”http://qaf-fic.com/atp/viewstory.php?sid=961”) by DPS at ATP and then progresses to Fireside Chat with 37 chapters.
DPS continues Fireside Chat (http://www.mags-nificent.com/MSW/DF/Fireside.htm) as Dale at Moonshadow Tribe. There must be over 150 chapters.
(Hey I tried the tutorial for links provided here. I think it worked. =D)
Last note: My curiousity was piqued and so I checked. There are 445 CHAPTERS! That has got to be the longest QAF series written.

I wanted to thank everyone for being so helpful in finding or reminding me of the “Novel Length” Fluffy QAF fics I was looking for. I compiled a list of them. I will add more if found:
Sparing Partners (”http://www.midnightwhispers.ca/viewuser.php?uid=68”) by Paeansong
The End Justify the Means Universe (”http://www.mags-nificent.com/MSW/SFF20.htm”) by Shawdownyc
The Gus Diaries (”http://www.mags-nificent.com/MSW/ShF/Gus.htm”) by Shawdownyc
Fireside Chats (”http://www.mags-nificent.com/MSW/Dale.htm”) and prequels by Dale. Part of it up to Chapter 37 can also be found at ATP under the penname DPS http://community.truequeerlove.com/viewuser.php?uid=99
The Sunshine Files (”http://www.mags-nificent.com/MSW/TS.htm”) by Thyme and Sabina. They also can be found at True Queer Love. http://community.truequeerlove.com/viewuser.php?uid=99

Here are two mentioned that didn’t fit the category because of extreme angst (my opinion), but should not be passed up, especially, if you get tired of all the fluff.
Before There Was You, There Was You by Gina Marie

Protège moi and Protège moi (part 2) by snow

Last note: Don’t end up like me, reading several chapters before realizing I haven’t reviewed. I am backlogged with several hours of reviews. It’s the least I can do. The writers put a lot of time and effort into their work and it shows. I can’t thank them enough for the enjoyment I get and the money I save by not spending money at the bookstore every weekend.
So please, don’t forget to review!
Sandra:)
