I only remember a small part of the story.

It about Gus wanting to be with Brian and Justin more and Lizzy somehow trying to stop Gus from meeting them.

I think Gus try his best to meet Brian and Justin. Can't remember how.

Not sure if this is it. Is it possible that it was Mel who kept trying to stop Gus from meeting them. There's a story like that, called Family Matters.
