getithere | Mod post: Fic folder - wtf's been going on?

Hi everyone :)

I know a lot of you have been wondering what was going on with the GIH fic folder for the past few days. You would click the link in the sidebar and be told it was invalid. ACK. 4shared seemed to be suddenly requiring membership there in order to download, and then the link wouldn't even work if someone was a logged-in member. I'm sure some of you were panicking that you'd lost access to all those fics, but we waited to do a post because we didn't know enough to offer many reassurances. There's still a lot we don't know - pretty much anything as far as what 4shared is doing - but here's an update on what we do know.

qafmaniac, we now have a link to the GIH RAPIDSHARE fic folder in the sidebar. The 4shared folder, for whatever reason, keeps changing back to private every time we try to change it back to public in the settings, which is why no one was able to get to it. Tita has nothing but great things to say about Rapidshare, so we have high hopes about this. One thing... The files are still named the same as before - author first - but they don't come up automatically in ABC order. When you click the folder link, click into "getithere uploads," then click where it says "Name" in the gray bar right above that, and they will be put in order and should be easily located. Things are still a bit in flux around here, but as far as I know you should be able to upload and download once again.

Court is still attempting to find out from 4shared support what the issue is, because darn it, we want to know! But we want to thank Tita for our new folder, and also

miss_alysandra, because it's times like these we are so grateful for the mirror site!
