These are my favorites that I read over and over again all the time.

"Broken Angel" - http://midnightwhispers.ca/viewstory.php?sid=1469
Justin's brain damage was more severe after the bashing and Brian shows just how much he loves Justin by helping him through it.

"But I Won't Do That" - http://midnightwhispers.ca/viewstory.php?sid=16&warning=3
Brian and Justin are in a plane crash in the wilderness and they much survive. Brian hurts his back badly and can't do anything while Justin is doing everything while injured almost just as bad.

"Deception" - http://midnightwhispers.ca/viewstory.php?sid=1488
Lindsay's affair with Sam results in a baby but everyone believes that Brian is the father. Brian and Justin take custody of Gus and when Mel has Jenny Rebecca, they take her too, as well as Lindsay's new baby that they name Danny.

"Gone But Not Forgotten" - http://midnightwhispers.ca/viewstory.php?sid=531
Brian and Justin are kidnapped, it's AU and they meet after being kidnapped. The only ones looking for them are Justin's agent or a woman he grew up knowing (I can't remember that part) and Cynthia. In the end they stay together.

Well, Justin can't move or talk himself for the most first part of the story. Jennifer sticks him in a hospital but then Brian gets guardianship over him and takes him out. Jen and Molly move away and everyone thinks Justin is dead. When they find out that Brian is with Justin, Mel and Ted turn on Brian and it gets pretty bad I guess. In the end it turns out good though but yeah I would say it's pretty angsty.

She really is terrible about summaries, which is why I read so few of her stories. (I like to know something of where I'm going before I start reading anything.) But probably my favorite story of hers is "Once Upon a Time."

Brian and Justin never saw each other again after the Prom, Justin was left blind as a result of the bashing. But 15 years later, Gus accidently finds Justin again: http://www.midnightwhispers.ca/viewstory.php?sid=194

One of my favorite Moonshadow Woman fics is Dear Mr. K.

In this one, Justin is lonely and needs someone to talk to so he picks a name out of the phone book. Of course the name he chooses is Brian's. He begins sending letters to "Mr. K" telling him about his life. Brian has no idea who is sending him the letters (maybe it's a crazy person!), but finds himself anticipating recieving the next one.

This fic never fails to make me smile. In fact, no matter how many times I read it, I laugh so hard I cry at least once. One thing I would mention though, is that it is not Ethan friendly. So, if you like Ethan bunches, this may not be for you.

Here's the link: http://www.midnightwhispers.ca/viewstory.php?sid=29

Hope you like it...Enjoy!

I like that one as well, but I will say that Brian is uncharacteristically nice in that fic. But there are lots of amusing things in that fic - especially with Hunter.

There was a reader's poll years ago and Dear Mr. K. came out as one of the most popular. I read it on that recommendation.

Several of my faves are already listed above, but there are always more. :-)

I recommend that any reader who enjoys Moonshadow Woman's style of AU-friendly, romance-friendly, angst-friendly, kid & pet-friendly fics should just start reading and not stop!

Her stories are filled with humor and sadness, joy and pain . . . everything up to and beyond the limit of what the characters of Brian and Justin are capable of. If only CowLip had used the characters a fraction as satisfyingly as MW has managed.

Here are a few more of my favorites, though there are many, many others, all of which I've read many times (but don't have time to write summaries for). I think of her stories as Comfort Food Fiction; they always give me what I want, even when I'm not sure what I'm hungry for:

It's Only Time (Post Season 5) -
While headed to the airport and New York, Justin makes the decision to create the life he wants to live, realizing that his family and friends may not truly know what's best. (This story contains some of my favorite original characters and situations -- I only wish it were much longer.)

http://www.midnightwhispers.ca/viewstory.php?sid=856&warning=3

'I' Is For Inuksuk -
After a tragic accident, Brian discovers he has a son. When the Kinney men meet Justin (and, unexpectedly, another canon character), all the pieces fall into place.
(Another story that I hated to see end. Love it.)

http://www.midnightwhispers.ca/viewstory.php?sid=479

Silent Night -
A deliciously long, involved tale begins on the night Craig kicks Justin out of his home. A great AU, spanning several years: OC's, KidFic.

http://www.midnightwhispers.ca/viewstory.php?sid=414&warning=10

Not Like Everyone Else -
Justin, a writer, relocates to a cabin in the woods for some peace and quiet (and to insulate himself from his mother's 'mothering'). Throw Brian and Gus, two puppies, and a vet named Daphne into the mix -- romance and fun ensue!

http://www.midnightwhispers.ca/viewstory.php?sid=682

When Irish Eyes Are Smiling -
Justin is intrigued by an Art Deco building - little does he know that his prince lives there – high in his self imposed tower. (Moonshadow Woman's summary.)

http://www.midnightwhispers.ca/viewstory.php?sid=370

Shadows In A Mirror -
After Justin is brutally attacked, Brian packs the two of them up and they leave for parts unknown. Will they find a safe place to call home? Will they be reunited with their Pittsburgh family? Who was really out to hurt Justin, and why?

http://www.midnightwhispers.ca/viewstory.php?sid=142

Dedicated To The One I Love -
Brian leaves Pittsburgh the day after his son is born. Justin meets the gang through Emmett – this shows how their lives develop and how even in this AU Brian and Justin are destined to be together. (Moonshadow Woman's summary.)

http://www.midnightwhispers.ca/viewstory.php?sid=249

Sonny Boy -
Brian doesn't want the constraints of fatherhood so Justin becomes the father figure for infant Gus. Years later, where, and how, does Brian fit into their little family?

http://www.midnightwhispers.ca/search.php

Princess Diaries -

Justin can’t face Pittsburgh and his extended family after his break up with Ethan - so he leaves - with no destination in mind - other than to live his life without being under a microscope. (Moonshadow Woman's summary.)

http://www.midnightwhispers.ca/viewstory.php?sid=216

Finding My Way To You -
Gus is having problems after the deaths of his mothers. When Brian decides they should visit Emmet - now living in Washington State - they meet the next-door-neighbor, who has been plagued with vivid dreams of a tall, hazel-eyed lover.

http://www.midnightwhispers.ca/viewstory.php?sid=220

Wish Upon A Star -
Gus is a silent, withdrawn little boy who just wants his dad. Justin is a child psychologist who just might be able to help with that.

Yes, it would . . . sometimes I wish it had been. I loved the characters, but often felt frustrated and generally let down by the writing; especially the later seasons.

I'm thrilled that so much of the series that didn't work for me, has been 'fixed' by fanfiction.

Thank you so much for your kind words and wonderful summaries - I do suck at summaries - something I have always done - I hope you don't mind - but I have added these to my summaries - you know just what to say.

would you like us to send you summaries as we [re]read your fic so you have them - I know I ended up spending hours one day going through them when someone posted in [livejournal.com profile] getithere looking for what I knew to be one of your fics, but I couldn't remember the title and there was no summary.

I know it's a lot of work for you to have to write them, but if others submitted them to you piecemeal you could update them.

Also, I'd like to make a request you go back and open up a second archive so the rest of your fics which aren't in the current archive are posted - folks really enjoy them, and between not having summaries and not having all of the completed fic, I drive myself crazy thinking I know she wrote it, but it isn't here. Or perhaps you could open an archive of translations, as well as your original fics.

Just a suggestion.

I would love to have summaries - send away - as for missing fics - let me know where to find them and what is missing - I'll post them as soon as you do - I don't remember any missing - but in the back of my mind I do have this niggling feeling that there are some.

Hi, Elsa Rose -- I'm honored to have some of my summaries gracing your stories. :-)

I re-read them pretty often so, like Netlagd, will be happy to send summaries to you as I go along. Yay!Teamwork!

well, I'm thinking there must be more of them because you used to have 3 archives, and your current archive has 140, several of which are spanish translations.

That said, I do think it would be a good idea to have a "Moonshadow Woman en Español" archive so you don't keep exhausting out the 140 limit. To that mind the same could be said for your original fic having an archive separate from the QAF fic.

I'll have to make it a project to go through and compare against your current archive and these lists:
http://midnightwhispers.ca/old/stories/Moonshadow%20Woman/
http://midnightwhispers.ca/old/stories/Moonshadow%20Woman2/
http://midnightwhispers.ca/old/stories/Moonshadow%20Woman%20and%20Miss%20Judy/

and then there are several here as well:

I read "Mr K" and "Once upon a time" thanks to the recs here. And I really liked them.
I just don't usually read her fics because of the lack of summaries. I want to know what it is that I'm going to read. Not all genres and story line's are my cup of tea and her lack of summaries makes me not reading her fics. But I liked the ones I found in the comments her.

Okay, for folks who are reading this thread. I actually have read all of her fics, but be warned Brian is often out of character - uncharacteristically nice. Brian is often the comforter to hurt!Justin. And she isn't overly nasty, but she definitely isn't a Michael lover. There are several dead lesbian stories amongst her stories. And Craig is almost always evil!Craig or villain!Craig. Also, she has taken some of her earlier AUs and converted them into "for profit" MM love stories - not making a judgement here, just saying. The Prince and the Privateer was one such fic, she took it down and ended up making it a non-brian & justin fic - to the disappointment of someone who had been looking for the fic, and thereby decreasing the number of QAF pirate!fics available. 'cuz c'mon who doesn't like a pirate!fic? Of course, several of her AUs are so AU it is only the smallest fraction of the QAF character and names remain.

She has written more than what appears on Midnight Whispers -- at one point had opened a second Moonshadow Woman author identity (like Moonshadow Woman 2 or something) since the archive limits 140 entries (or some such number) -- as a result some of her fics are no longer on line. This is further exacerbated by the fact that she has several fics now posted at Midnight Whispers are Spanish translations of the same fics posted in English. At times, she seems to rotate through the fics she posts. I'm not sure she knows how many fics she has written but my guess is around 160.

The summary issue is a problem that evolved after Midnight Whispers crashed/went off line/was kicked off line due to content and had to be reincarnated as the current MidnightWhispers.ca

If you are overly adventurous, and willing to go through the tedium of text files in a Unix directory, you can find a few more of her stories by ftp'ing or saving all of her earlier text files - warning on Unix systems numbers are stored alphabetically so you are dealing with a sort alongs the lines of the following:

2827.txt
2862.txt
288.txt
2943.txt
2984.txt
301.txt
3043.txt
3182.txt
320.txt
3271.txt
342.txt

You can find Moonshadow Woman, Moonshadow Woman2 and Moonshadow Woman and Miss Judy's earlier fics here:
http://midnightwhispers.ca/old/stories/Moonshadow%20Woman/
http://midnightwhispers.ca/old/stories/Moonshadow%20Woman2/
http://midnightwhispers.ca/old/stories/Moonshadow%20Woman%20and%20Miss%20Judy/

I wrote a long post about this here, in case folks want to recover any old fics by old authors:
http://getithere.livejournal.com/1657781.html

So there you have it.

I worship Elsa Rose for giving us Midnight Whispers, a place to enjoy her stories and those of many other qaf authors. I adore her creativity and prolificacy. It is a shame so many of her Moonshadow Woman’s stories lost their summaries through the many resurrections forced on MW. They are full of interesting premises. Often times her plots shift and head somewhere far from where they started, so it is hard to explain them with any brevity. "One Wheel Too Many" http://midnightwhispers.ca/viewstory.php?sid=55
is an example. I love, love, love this Poor!Justin set up. Teenage Gus lives with Brian and Justin. He, his father and Michael are thick as thieves with Justin the odd man out. While I dig on this part, I get a little lost coming around the magically curve in the story arc, lol. (Still, I appreciate her imagination and the fact that she surprises me!)

Another of my favorites is "Behind the Fifth Moon" http://midnightwhispers.ca/viewstory.php?sid=214
‘Brian goes to University in Seattle - he is hired by Justin’ and adventure ensues. It is one you have to just jump in and enjoy without a map. "Silent Night" mentioned by [livejournal.com profile] wjsc99 is another wild ride that I hold dear but wouldn’t try to explain any more than she did; I wouldn't want to risk dimming the magic!

The supernatural (magic!) elements in some of the stories is what originally caught my attention. Of course, my grandfather was a spiritual medium, so very little is outside my 'cone of believability'. :-)
