Stories by Knittedshadow

Knittedshadow's journal is f-locked and I've been waiting after commenting, but I haven't been friended back yet and it has been awhile. I was wondering if anyone has copies of her stories, especially the deaf story. Although I do want to read all of her stories, I love disability stories.

Please and thank you.

As [livejournal.com profile] ipitydaf00l says, this question does come up from time to time. I made this post (http://getithere.livejournal.com/1463527.html) about a year ago to try to answer that question in a way that accommodates both readers and writers.

Regarding locked LJs, well, there are lots of reasons people lock their journals. One reason is to make sure RL people or underage folks don't access porny fic, graphics, etc. or be able to read it in a google search. I mean, if you're writing fic in a fandom, you probably want it to be read by other fandom members, just not your mom! lol My own is locked and I barely have anything in there at all.

Whereas mine is unlocked cause I don't give a shit what anyone sees. Only very personal posts are flocked and/or filtered. Other than that, I dun curr.

Oh, honey, I think my attitude is well known by now. LOL Ask anyone I've pissed off lately. I'm sure there's a few.

Thanks for your answer and also for the link to your old post.
Of course you're right: there might be different reasons to lock a journal, and you would think that a writer of fanfiction wants to share them with other fandom members.
Your post made me think: coming from a legal system like it is in Germany my first thought was no, that can't be handled this way. It's not ok to assume permission until the author says otherwise.
But then I re-thought it - many writers here are coming from a bit more liberal systems and seem to share your suggestion and opinion - you would think that otherwise your post had caused more reactions from writers who don't accept that. Coming from that I agree that your point of view makes sense. But I'm happy that I finally asked. I'm really too unexperienced in fandom stuff.
